Ghostworks

Bind the Fae & Master the Curse

Ghostworks is a dark-fantasy adventure, magic, automation, and boss-progression mod for NeoForge. Befriend a mysterious Fae, capture supernatural creatures, build machinery powered by forbidden materials, forge weapons that evolve through battle, and hunt enormous bosses across a world filled with ruins, secrets, and strange new life.

This is not a collection of disconnected blocks. Ghostworks is built as a journey: discover the Fae, learn the curse, construct the machines, forge the arsenal, and challenge what the world tried to bury.

What Ghostworks brings to a modpack

  • A complete Fae and curse progression path with its own resources, crafting systems, quests, and consequences
  • Large animated boss encounters with unique arenas, attacks, rewards, and progression hooks
  • A broad arsenal of tools, weapons, armor, shields, bows, staffs, and trophy equipment
  • Functional machines and multiblocks for processing, automation, farming, storage, and combat
  • New structures, settlements, encounters, creatures, and a lush Chorus Garden biome for the End
  • A player guide, Bossfinder Compass, Hunter's Chalk markers, JEI integration, and discoverable in-world direction

The heart of Ghostworks: Fae and curses

Two powers run through everything in Ghostworks. One is alive, luminous, and unpredictable. The other is powerful, hungry, and never entirely safe.

Walk beside the Fae

Every player begins with the Ghostworks Guide and a way to meet Luma, a small Fae companion at the center of the mod's story. Luma's requests unfold through multiple paths—Balance, Hearth, and Wanderer—and lead players toward forgotten ruins, lost characters, magical flora, and the deeper history of the Fae.

Fae magic is a real progression system, not just decoration:

  • Gather Pixie Dust from Fae wildlife and supernatural encounters
  • Use the Pixie Botanica to cultivate enchanted plants and rare natural materials
  • Capture six varieties of small Fae inside a Cursed Jar
  • Install a Bound Fae into a Fae Core to awaken an arcane storage network
  • Connect inventories through Fae Inventory Relays and Resonance Cards
  • Search, transfer, and craft from a single six-row network interface
  • Unlock powerful Fae equipment, including the complete Starlight Pixie Armor set and its full-set flight ability

Feed the curse

The curse offers greater power, but it asks players to build an industry around it. Collect Cursed Dust, create Cursed Carbon in a formed Incinerator, compress it into Cursed Diamonds, and decide whether to forge the material as it is, or purify it toward something holy.

Carrying the wrong power can raise Curse Pressure, allowing nearby threats to feed on the burden. The strongest equipment in Ghostworks is earned through processing, exploration, combat, and ritual progression rather than a single crafting-table recipe.

Build a forbidden workshop

Ghostworks includes a full collection of functional machines, from early utility blocks to a large cursed processing chain.

Core processing and crafting

  • Cursed Incinerator — a formed multiblock with dedicated item, lava, and output ports; converts fuel into Cursed Carbon and supports later progression
  • Cursed Diamond Press — compresses Cursed Carbon, TNT, and flint into Cursed Diamonds through an animated press cycle
  • Cursed Evaporator — purifies cursed materials and advances the Holy equipment path
  • Cursed Forge — a dedicated forge for Cursed, Holy, Starlight, shield, and special equipment recipes
  • Cursed Quarry — automated resource extraction for established workshops
  • Cursed Sawmill, Grinder, and Furnace — specialized material processing machines
  • Soak Basin — water-based processing for natural and decorative materials

Automation, farming, and defense

  • Mob Killing Machine and Drop Collector for controlled mob processing
  • Cursed Trap, trap extenders, and Monster Bait for defensive setups
  • Bottler o' Factory for bottling experience
  • Element Extractor for renewable elemental harvests
  • Pixie Botanica for Fae-powered plant production
  • Area Charm for localized utility
  • Hopper and modded item-pipe access across the machine line

Fae-powered storage

The Fae Core is the centerpiece of a late-game workshop. A captured Bound Fae awakens the Core, while as many as four Fae Inventory Relays connect up to eight external inventories. The network provides a searchable storage browser, direct transfers, integrated 3×3 crafting, and optional JEI ingredient pulling.

Forge an arsenal with a history

Ghostworks weapons are built around distinct material paths, boss trophies, and combat-driven upgrades.

Cursed and Holy equipment

  • Complete Cursed sword, axe, pickaxe, shovel, hoe, armor, and shield sets
  • Complete Holy sword, axe, pickaxe, shovel, hoe, and armor sets
  • The Shield of Divinity, forged beyond the ordinary Holy path
  • Holy Smithing Templates, Golden Cloth, Broken Holy Armor, and other restoration materials

Fae-forged gear

  • Complete Leaf and Sunpetal tool-and-weapon families
  • Starlight Pixie Armor, granting flight when the full set is worn
  • Fae Lantern Axe, combining utility with Fae craftsmanship
  • Viridian Hive Staff, which calls a temporary swarm of allied bees

Legendary and boss weapons

  • Sandai Kitetsu, awakened by feeding a Holy Sword through the Cursed Pedestal's combat ritual
  • The Demon Slayer Sword, restored from the remains of its fallen wielder
  • The Blade of Greed, a dangerous reforge with its own identity
  • Sentinel Sword, claimed from the ancient keepers of the Ruined Castle
  • Moon-Eater Staff, carrying the power of the great burrowing beast
  • Colossal Root Hammer, an awakened heavy weapon with vein-seeking force

Bows and creature-forged tools

  • Rotfang Bow, Netherblight Bow, Voidreaver Bow, and Gravebow Iron Bow
  • Specialized spider-forged equipment such as the Cinderfang Iron Sword, Ebon Rotmaw Iron Axe, Maw of Nethervine Iron Shovel, and Nocthar Webreaver Iron Hoe
  • Unique Gilded Girthling keepsakes: the Grateful Crown, Belly-Blessed Cuirass, Greaves of the Fallen Feast, and Boots of Reluctant Balance

Utility equipment matters too: the Bossfinder Compass guides discovered hunts, while Hunter's Chalk creates named waypoints that can be viewed, managed, and removed by dimension.

Fight bosses worthy of the journey

Ghostworks bosses are designed as encounters, not oversized normal mobs. They use bespoke models, animated attacks, arenas, rewards, and progression consequences.

  • The Sentinel Overlord — waits within the fog-covered Overgrown Ruined Castle and commands its ancient guardians
  • The Cursed King — rules the forgotten chambers of the Tree Library
  • The Moon-Eater — coils beneath a massive mountain arena, protected by armor that must be broken during the fight
  • The Demon Slayer — the culmination of the Sandai Kitetsu ritual path and the keeper of a shattered legendary weapon
  • Swarmblossom Colossus — a towering living hive with heavy strikes, roots, traps, and controlled bee swarms
  • The Moldkeeper — a rare Fae Ruin guardian and source of precious Revival Ether
  • Atlas and Rio, the Twin Wardens — a nonlethal challenge built around the two corgis' different personalities and abilities
  • A sealed final confrontation for players who uncover the complete Ghostworks story

Key bosses can be rediscovered with the Bossfinder Compass, and several fallen bosses can be returned through dedicated revival rituals and arena chests.

The Demon Slayer boss

Explore a world touched by both powers

Ghostworks adds large destinations and smaller discoveries throughout the world:

  • The environment-aware Overgrown Ruined Castle, with its walled garden, organic mountain waterfall, central swimming pond, ancient tree, arena, and hidden routes
  • The enormous Tree Library and its Cursed King
  • Moon-Eater Mountain, built around a hollow boss basin
  • Rare Fae Ruins protected by the Moldkeeper
  • Villages that can gain unusual residents, new traders, and a growing Heart of the City
  • Corgi Hollow, home to Atlas and Rio's protected arena and lively ecosystem
  • Buried miners, cursed processions, roaming encounters, and story fragments that reward exploration

The Chorus Garden

The End gains a lush Ghostworks biome built on Voidsoil rather than ordinary End Stone. Hollow Chorus willows grow with thick directional logs, translucent flowering leaves, complementary hanging vines, and rare End Mushling homes hidden inside their trunks.

The biome includes:

  • Short and tall End grasses, reeds, luminous watergrass, cattails, lilies, shrubs, roots, mushrooms, and fallen blossom carpets
  • Hollow Chorus logs, stripped logs, planks, stairs, doors, signs, hanging signs, fences, saplings, and decorative building pieces
  • Small furnished Mushling homes with families, decoration, and loot chests
  • Reverse Chorus Fruit, which teleports the player upward instead of toward lower ground
  • End garden statues, fountains, paths, stepping stones, waterfall rocks, wet garden rocks, lattice windows, wind chimes, bubbling springs, miniature trees, and floating blossom pads

The biome is integrated through TerraBlender, uses new chunks for generation, and is designed to coexist with Biomes O' Plenty rather than replacing its End content.

Meet strange creatures

The world is populated by creatures that give Ghostworks its personality:

  • Fae wildlife and companions including Luma, Fae Foxes, Lantern Wisps, River Nixies, Lake Dragonflies, Fireflies, and six capturable small Fae
  • Verdant, Duscap, and End Mushlings, including End families living inside Hollow Chorus trees
  • Gobblings, Gilded Girthlings, Wreckfin Squids, and roaming village residents
  • Gentle creatures such as the Mossbun, Emberkit, Glimmerfin, Moonpuff, Pebblepup, and Dewdrake
  • Dangerous cursed spiders: Cinderfang Skitter, Ebon Rotmaw, Vesper Blightfang, Nocthar Webreaver, Maw of Nethervine, and Gravebow Skitterfiend
  • Cursed guardians, brokers, reclaimers, sentinels, and other encounters tied to the wider progression

Built for discovery—and for modpacks

  • The in-game Ghostworks Guide explains progression without requiring an external wiki
  • JEI is optional, with dedicated categories and information pages when installed
  • TerraBlender is bundled for world-generation integration
  • Existing worlds are supported; new structures and biomes appear in newly explored chunks
  • Machines expose item automation capabilities for hoppers and compatible modded pipes
  • Endermen are prevented from carrying away the biome's decorative vegetation
  • World features are designed to coexist with other biome mods, including Biomes O' Plenty

Requirements

  • Minecraft 26.2
  • NeoForge 26.2.0.53-beta
  • JEI optional
  • No separate TerraBlender download required

Bind the Fae. Build the machines. Break the curse.

Whether you come for an enchanted companion, a sprawling automated workshop, a legendary weapon path, a changed End, or a new roster of bosses for your pack, Ghostworks is built to make every stage of the journey feel discovered, earned, and memorable.
