Ghostworks 6.4.22 — The Bone Carver & Cursed Magic
Changes since Ghostworks-2026.09.21_MC_26.2_v6.4.14.jar.
There's a new tomb hidden beneath the snowy mountains, a rather unsettling sculptor waiting at the end of it, and a way to turn your boss victories into magic of your own. This update also brings graveyards, herbal brewing, and some much-needed work on equipment and machines.
The Bone Carver's Tomb
- Added a new dungeon beneath Snowy Slopes, Frozen Peaks, Jagged Peaks, and Groves. Look for a lodge in the mountains. Inside, an open shaft drops into a landing pool, with a separate bubble-column route back up.
- The journey takes you through a frozen garden, winding catacombs, and an icy bridge. Expect diamond-armored undead along the way.
- Added Frozen Roses, Frozen Poppies, and Frostbells. They're pretty, but brushing through them builds up freezing.
- Added the Bone Carver
- Added Shivering, which slows movement and keeps freezing building up. Watch the Carver's attack warnings and leave yourself room to retreat.
- Added encounter dialogue
The Carver's Last Spike
The Bone Carver leaves behind the Carver's Last Spike and Frozen Marrow, alongside bones and Blue Ice.
- Hold right-click to charge a throw. A fully charged hit deals more damage and chills its target with Shivering.
- Throws use durability and have an eight-second cooldown. Repair the weapon with Frozen Marrow in an anvil.
- Added custom held and thrown models, glowing cyan details, and inventory artwork.
Cursed Heart Staff
Defeating the crimson wyvern now rewards a Cursed Heart. Take it to the Cursed Forge and place a Cursed Diamond above it and a stick below it to make the Cursed Heart Staff.
- Right-click with the staff in your main hand to choose a spell and load Cursed Carbon. Close the menu and left-click to cast.
- Added all twelve powers: Blue Fire, Marrow Spear, Shivering Wave, Root Grasp, Prism Beam, Tidal Burst, Soul Tomb, Grave Mark, Spectral Whirl, Mossrot Guard, Curse Beam, and Crimson Orb.
- Projectiles gently home toward visible enemies ahead of them. Beams and Root Grasp have assistance near the crosshair, while ground attacks and surrounding waves keep their own shapes.
- Added a cooldown display above the hotbar and countdowns on the spell icons. Switching spells or staffs, or reconnecting, doesn't reset your cooldowns.
- Spell damage has been raised to suit an endgame reward. Damaging spells deal 20–54 base damage, before defenses and elemental matchups. Root Grasp remains a control spell; Mossrot Guard hits for 12 damage and lasts 20 seconds.
- Different enemies respond differently to cold, fire, water, radiant, spectral, and decay magic. The spell tooltips explain those matchups.
- Spells respect walls, owned allies, and server PvP rules, and leave the terrain intact. You can have one temporary Mossrot Guard at a time.
Graveyards and restless burials
- Added skeleton graves and bone piles in the Overworld, with wither-skeleton versions in the Nether. You can find standalone burials as well as graveyards beside newly generated villages and some Nether fortresses.
- Graveyards come in small, medium, and large layouts based on the nearby landmark. They follow the terrain, with tended or abandoned appearances and fenced or walled boundaries.
- Some graveyard plots hide buried chests containing scraps, small savings, or worn equipment. Nether graves can rarely contain nearly broken diamond gear.
- Silk Touch lets you collect the grave pieces for decoration. Player-placed pieces stay quiet, so your own memorials won't turn into ambushes.
Herbal brewing and Freeze Resistance
- Added cream-white Elderberry along Beaches, Snowy Beaches, and Stony Shores, and magenta Pelargonium underground in Dripstone Caves, Sulfur Caves, and the Deep Dark.
- Harvest Elderberry Flowers and Pelargonium Roots, then combine one of each into Herbal Blend. Both ingredients can replant their herbs, and bone meal provides another harvest.
- Brew Herbal Blend into Fire Resistance to make Freeze Resistance. The normal potion lasts three minutes; the extended version lasts eight. Splash, lingering, and tipped-arrow versions are supported.
- Freeze Resistance clears freezing and Shivering and protects against powder snow, frozen flowers, and chilling attacks. It replaces the potion's fire protection, so choose what you bring for the trip.
Machines, equipment, and polish
- Cursed Forge recipes now support data packs, including custom ingredients, output counts, crafting times, and cursed or holy attunement. JEI and the Guide show the server's recipes and refresh after a reload.
- The Drop Collector now accepts properly tagged modded shovels as well as Ghostworks shovels, with configurable fuel mappings. Full collectors don't spend fuel on items they can't take.
- Reduced repeated recipe lookups and unnecessary machine updates, and improved progress synchronization for players viewing machines together.
- Updated Shield of Divinity: while awake in the offhand, it spends one Pixie Dust per damaging hit to reduce remaining damage by 25%. Fully blocked hits don't use dust.
- When its fuel runs out, the next damaging hit grants three seconds of protection before it sleeps. That blessing has a 60-second cooldown shared across shield swaps and death. Waking the shield now takes five seconds of holding right-click with Pixie Dust.
- Cleaned up enchantment and anvil repair support across tools, armor, shields, and special weapons, including missing vanilla equipment tags.
- Added a Boss Bestiary to the Guide, plus dedicated Moldkeeper and Swarmblossom Colossus entries and the new Bone Carver history.
Existing worlds: Explore new terrain to find the tomb, graveyards, standalone burials, and naturally growing herbs. These additions don't regenerate areas you've already explored.
