What's new

Ghostworks 6.4.14 — What’s new since 6.3.2

Release date: September 21, 2026

Soul Wand and Fae Lantern teleportation

  • Added Hollow Chorus Sticks, which become Soul-attuned after recording 200 kills on a Cursed Pedestal.
  • Added the Soul Wand and a persistent teleportation network between named Fae Lanterns.
  • Lantern owners can make destinations public or private.
  • Soul Wand travel works across dimensions and checks for a safe arrival point before teleporting the player.
  • Travel costs five hunger icons. Longer journeys require more preparation time and apply Soul Strain.
  • Added a Soul Wand fuel inventory. Pixie Dust or Cursed Carbon can bypass Soul Strain, but Cursed Carbon inflicts a Travel Curse.
  • Added travel effects, lantern visuals, recipes, status effects, and in-game guide information.
  • Defeating the new dungeon guardians can uncover public Fae Lantern destinations, expanding the travel network through exploration.

Four new dungeons to discover

  • Added four large, naturally generated underground dungeons with terrain-blended entrances, branching chambers, enemies, supplies, lore, and hidden keeper workshops.
  • Added Hollowback Cavern, found beneath plains, forests, taiga, savanna, and other green regions.
  • Added Gravebound Cavern, found beneath forest and taiga regions.
  • Added Ruined Dunes, buried beneath deserts and badlands.
  • Added The Forsaken Deep, entered through a worked descent on the ocean floor.
  • Added the Roads of the Keepers guide page and village-elder rumors that help players follow old roads and locate the new ruins.
  • Added expedition caches containing equipment, food, and other useful supplies.
  • New dungeons generate in newly explored terrain. Existing saved dungeon layouts are preserved.

Four dungeon guardians and their relics

  • Added the Hollowback Queen, ruler of a living underground colony. Defeating her awards the Hollowback Crown.
  • Added Gravebound, found in the corrupted lower halls of Gravebound Cavern. Defeating it awards the Gravebound Chestplate.
  • Added Sahret, Jackal of the Ash Vault, guardian of the fiery depths below Ruined Dunes. Defeating Sahret awards Ashwalker Leggings.
  • Added the Abyssal Custodian, guardian of the monument court in The Forsaken Deep. Defeating it awards Tidebound Boots.
  • Each guardian relic has its own ability. Wearing all four displays the Four Blessings while keeping every individual relic effect.
  • Guardian battles now include clearer attack warnings and better responses to distant attacks and enclosed shelters.
  • Sahret marks the ground before an eruption. The Custodian’s reef-bolt volley and tidal floor wave travel through its arena.

Luma and the Living Chronicle

  • Redesigned Luma with a fluffy pearl-white and lilac appearance, expressive green eyes, animated ears, paws, face, and a sweeping tail.
  • Added peaceful Luma behaviors: orbiting nearby, landing to stretch or groom, stalking and pouncing, investigating animals, and greeting another player’s Luma.
  • Luma’s ambient activities yield when the player travels or needs her for a quest.
  • Reworked the Ghostworks Guide into the Living Chronicle, with a Current Thread that tracks discoveries and the player’s next lead.
  • Added torn leaves, keeper encounters, and five Luma memory chapters that gradually restore the Chronicle’s story.
  • Added a new dark leather and parchment guide cover marked by a luminous pawprint.

Combat, equipment, and the First Evil

  • Expanded the late-game First Evil encounter with a new phase after its first form falls: a crimson wyrm with aerial attacks, a dangerous landing, and a signaled ground battle.
  • Added new animated attack tells and timing to the Cursed King, including an avoidable marked root slam.
  • Enlarged the held models and improved the blocking poses for the Cursed Shield and Shield of Divinity.
  • The Shield of Divinity now blocks normally without Pixie Dust; its dust-powered protection remains a separate ability.

Visuals, balance, and fixes

  • Updated the Cursed Forge, Fae Core, and Relay models.
  • Updated Gravebow Skitterfiend visuals, chalk waypoint icons, guardian sounds, spawn eggs, creatures, and armor details.
  • Improved how dungeon approaches blend into the surrounding landscape and prevented inappropriate blocked or flooded entrances.
  • Slowed Hollowback brood replenishment, made brood react to light, and made Dread Vesper elites rarer.
  • Fixed issues affecting storage, the Cursed Quarry, world generation, combat, and several guardian abilities.

Minecraft 26.1.2 port

  • Ported the complete 6.4.14 gameplay, world generation, models, textures, data, and tests from Minecraft 26.2 to Minecraft 26.1.2.
  • Backported the required Minecraft, NeoForge, and TerraBlender APIs.
  • Corrected custom mob-category registration for NeoForge 26.1.2.
  • Bundled TerraBlender 26.1.2.0.3 inside the finished JAR.

Compatibility

  • Minecraft 26.1.2
  • Java 25
  • NeoForge [26.1.2.95,26.2)
  • TerraBlender [26.1.2.0.3) (bundled)

The unchanged packaged release passed all 105 required server GameTests on both NeoForge 26.1.2.95 and NeoForge 26.1.2.109.
