Cinderscapes is a beautiful, yet frightening biomes mod for Minecraft 1.16 and above running on the Fabric mod loader. Cinderscapes enchances the default minecraft experience by adding 6 new rich and detailed nether biomes following in the same style as those already in the vanilla game. In addition to new biomes Cinderscapes adds some new unique types of building blocks further expanding your building capabilities.
Cinderscapes requires Fabric Loader and Fabric API

The two central tenants of the Cinderscapes project are refinement and simplicity, so in order to uphold those central values, the few biomes that Cinderscapes does add have gone through rigorous polishing, detailing, and refining to make sure all additions are up to the community's standards. Focus has been placed on depth rather than breadth and we hope that it clearly shows. Overall we hope this will result in a more cohesive experience compared to existing biome mods.
Biomes:
- Ashy Shoals
- Blackstone Shales
- Luminous Grove
- Quartz Canyon
Images of the biomes can be found on the Images page.
Cinderscapes also contains some wonderful music from members of the community. Special thanks to Etorna_Z, LudoCrypt, and BoyBeyondTheStars for their compositions. To see more work from Etorna_Z make sure to check out their Soundcloud page, and for more work from LudoCrypt make sure to check out their bandcamp and their profile. Arobazz was also kind enough to share with us their rose and smoky quartz textures for use in Cinderscapes. To see more of their work check out the Builder's Basics mod or take a look at their profile on Curse Forge.

will there be any more biomes?
The particle spam from this mod is pretty over the top. Friendo on an alpha modpack server died when his nether portal appeared in a cinderscape biome and he got assaulted by mobs. I offered to help, thinking I could handle it. Nope, step through portal, FPS gets absolutely rekt making combat near impossible (also using Age of Exile and MCDoom, so it was hectic). It was totally unexpected, because the BetterNether biome my portal is in, has no FPS hit at all.
(End Result: I ended up losing tons of items, partially from not having a grave mod with curios/trinkets compatibility, partially from constant durability damage from magma under the ash and lag letting enemies get many free hits. It was the perfect storm.)
So I think to myself.. why is it lagging so bad? Then I remember the particle setting in video options. Turned it down, and bam, all my FPS comes back. This is the first time I've ever seen the particle setting ever really affect my FPS, let alone this dramatically. Unless this is some weird incompatibility with Canvas/CullParticles, this honestly seems to be a bit much, as it in theory forces everyone with midrange or lower computers to turn off particle effects if they wanna get near Cinderscapes' biomes. I'd like to request a setting to turn off the particles (if possible) so users don't have to give up other particle effects. I already found the setting for turning off ash accumulation, which I'll be testing in the future.
Seems like a cool mod otherwise. I really like how a lot of it looks.
I would really appreciate it if someone ported this to forge just like they did to traverse.

A forge version would be awesome!
In reply to FluffyySnow:
agreed, I want my nether looking even more awesome! I am also trying to make a pack that enhances all the various elements of minecraft vanilla (for fun mostly) and this would make it cooler indeed.
Some real nice looking areas in this mod, and excellent decorative additions. Although I've been seeing a lot of floating polypite quartz crystals and disconnected quartz ore veins, Better Nether compatibility issue? Mostly noticeable in the quartz canyon biome due to its crazy quartz spawn rate (which, imo, could use a bit of toning down). Just a minor annoyance, enjoyable mod otherwise.
how can i remove the particles effect in the quartz canyon
Where can I find a music list? I really like some of these tracks, they're on par with Pigstep.
Is this compatible with better nether?
In reply to sunlife64:
Yes
Will this mod eventually add more mobs?
I love your biomes mods so much! They feel like they could pretty easily be a mojang update. Anyways I literaly just created this curse forge account to congratulate you and say that I'm am very curious about what would be your take on end biomes

Thanks for the kind words, we've got plans for an end biome mod but it's not super deep into development more just throwing around ideas than anything.
forge pls
it will make my day
we really needs this to forge
Will this mod work on servers?
In reply to baegele:
It works on servers, you also need it on clients though.
Will this be for forge in the future? Because it looks really cool and I play forge

No
Almost (If not all) of your Mod's Files are set to the Wrong MC version. This is the same for Terrestria. Making it very annoying to download this mod. Most Files are set to 1.16.2 when they just don't support it
