Soulbound Graves

Death graves for Paper servers. Items and XP wait safely in a locked grave instead of spilling on the ground.

When a player dies, a player head with their skin appears where they died. They open it and every item goes back into the same slot it came from, armour and off-hand included, plus their XP. For the first 10 minutes only the owner can open it.

Features

• Items return to the exact slots they were in, armour and off-hand included
• Keeps all XP, the vanilla amount, or none: your choice
• Locked to the owner for a set time, then anyone can loot it
• Safe spots for lava, water, mid-air and void deaths
• Explosions, pistons, liquids and mobs can't break a grave
• Grave compass on respawn that points to the grave
• Floating name and timer above every grave
• Admin tools: list, teleport, restore and remove graves
• Graves are saved to disk and survive restarts
• Every message editable with MiniMessage

Commands

graves.create (everyone by default) decides who gets a grave.

Install

1. Stop your server.
2. Put SoulboundGraves-1.0.0.jar in the plugins folder.
3. Start the server and edit plugins/SoulboundGraves/config.yml if you want.
4. Run /graves reload.

Requirements

• Paper 1.21.4 (or a Paper fork such as Purpur)
• Java 21
• Not for Spigot or Folia

Tested

Tested on a real Paper 1.21.4 server with bot players: normal, lava, lava-lake, mid-air and void deaths, TNT, slot restore, XP, compass, a full restart, and the unlock and expiry timers (33 of 33 checks passed).
