Description
Chroma Valleys HD — A Complementary Pack
Chroma Valleys HD is a fan-made complementary resource pack for Minecraft Bedrock Edition and Minecraft Education, created to extend the visual style of Chroma Hills HD to newer Minecraft content while providing modern compatibility fixes.
It is designed as an overlay, not a replacement.
Chroma Valleys only overrides resources that require new artwork, updated textures, or compatibility corrections. Everything else falls through naturally to Chroma Hills HD when the original pack is present.
A legitimate usable copy of Chroma Hills HD is required for the intended full Chroma Hills experience.
Chroma Valleys can also load independently, but resources not supplied by Chroma Valleys will fall back to Minecraft's default textures.
Minecraft Bedrock & Minecraft Education
Chroma Valleys HD is designed for use with both Minecraft Bedrock Edition and Minecraft Education.
Because it is a resource-pack-based compatibility and expansion project, the same Chroma Valleys textures and corrections can be used in compatible Education worlds without requiring Beta Script APIs or experimental gameplay features.
For educators, this can also provide a more cohesive themed visual environment for classroom worlds, collaborative projects, exploration activities, and custom Minecraft Education experiences.
What Chroma Valleys HD Adds
Chroma Valleys extends the Chroma Hills visual style to Minecraft content introduced after the original pack's applicable releases while also repairing older resources that no longer align correctly with modern Bedrock geometry and rendering.
Major additions include newer Copper content, the Nautilus family, Sulfur content, Spears and newer equipment, newer mobs and blocks, spawn eggs, UI resources, entity textures, particles, geometry support, and modern presentation assets.
Baby Mob Overhaul
One of the largest parts of Chroma Valleys HD is its extensive baby-mob compatibility rebuild.
Many older Chroma Hills textures were never designed for modern Bedrock baby geometry or the specialized models used by newer compatibility packs.
Chroma Valleys adds dedicated textures, UV corrections, geometry adjustments, and compatibility work for a large portion of Minecraft's baby mobs.
Supported families include rabbits, sheep, cows, Mooshrooms, goats, pigs, chickens, bees, foxes, armadillos, dolphins, squid, Glow Squid, horses, donkeys, mules, Skeleton Horses, Zombie Horses, cats, ocelots, wolves, llamas, trader llamas, axolotls, Snifflets, camels, Hoglins, Zoglins, Sea Turtles, pandas, Polar Bears, Striders, Villagers, Zombies, Piglins, Zombified Piglins, and Zombie Villagers.
These are not simply scaled-down adult textures. Many required individual repairs to body surfaces, facial alignment, paws, feet, snouts, collars, appendages, overlays, or model UV layouts.
Actions & Stuff Compatibility
Chroma Valleys includes targeted compatibility work for Actions & Stuff 1.11 — SP0 / Custom Experience.
The goal is to preserve Actions & Stuff's custom models and animations while allowing Chroma Hills-style HD textures to align correctly with them.
Compatibility work covers numerous mobs and entities including cows, Mooshrooms, sheep, rabbits, chickens, bees, horses, mules, camels, Villagers, Piglins, Zombified Piglins, Striders, Iron Golem and Bogged overlays, minecarts, and other modern entity routes.
Actions & Stuff is optional and is not required to use Chroma Valleys HD.
Chroma Visuals & Vibrant Visuals Compatibility
Chroma Valleys also provides compatibility work for players combining Chroma Hills HD with Chroma Visuals and Minecraft's Vibrant Visuals rendering system.
Current corrections include assets such as crop textures, custom Tall Grass, Dark Oak bark routing, Copper Tool rendering, Copper Lantern emissive behavior, and other resources that could otherwise lose their Chroma Hills appearance or render incorrectly.
HUD Compatibility
Chroma Valleys includes Chroma-style support for newer HUD elements including Hardcore hearts, Wither hearts, and Gold/Absorption hearts.
Resolution Support
Both primary Chroma Hills HD resolutions are supported:
128x — Subpack 12
64x — Subpack 64
The 64x version receives its own cleanup and correction work rather than relying entirely on automatic downscaling.
Clean Fall-Through Design
Chroma Valleys deliberately avoids replacing large catalogs of Chroma Hills resources when no override is necessary.
If Chroma Valleys does not provide a specific replacement, the resource underneath it remains responsible for that asset.
With Chroma Hills HD installed, the original Chroma Hills resource displays normally.
Without Chroma Hills HD, Minecraft's default resource displays instead.
This keeps Chroma Valleys smaller, cleaner, easier to maintain, and focused specifically on newer content and compatibility work.
Recommended Pack Order
For the intended Chroma Hills experience, use this priority order:
Chroma Valleys HD
Chroma Hills HD
Chroma Visuals (when used)
Actions & Stuff 1.11 — SP0 / Custom Experience (when used)
Minecraft / Vanilla resources
Chroma Valleys should remain above Chroma Hills HD so its newer-content artwork and compatibility corrections can take priority while everything else falls through normally.
Known Limitation
One compatibility issue has been identified as originating primarily within Actions & Stuff itself.
Lead/leash attachment positioning can be incorrect on certain adult mobs, particularly the Bee and potentially some Fox configurations.
Attempts to fully correct this from the Chroma Valleys resource layer introduced additional problems, so those experimental overrides are intentionally not included.
Project Goal
Chroma Valleys HD exists to bring newer Minecraft content into the Chroma Hills visual style while repairing modern Bedrock and Education compatibility issues without attempting to replace the original Chroma Hills HD experience.
The project focuses on newer Chroma-style content, baby-mob compatibility, Actions & Stuff support, Chroma Visuals and Vibrant Visuals corrections, resolution cleanup, and a clean fall-through design.
Compatibility
Chroma Valleys HD is designed for:
Minecraft Bedrock Edition
Minecraft Education
No Beta Script APIs are required.

For the intended full visual experience, a legitimate usable copy of Chroma Hills HD is still required.
