The Movie Experience Reforged

A fan-updated, rebalanced, and bug-fixed version of "A Minecraft Movie Add-on" for Minecraft Bedrock Edition.

This version preserves the original add-on's mobs, weapons, items, animations, sounds, and overall experience while cleaning up outdated content, fixing gameplay issues, and bringing several mechanics closer to modern vanilla Minecraft.

✨ What's Updated?

🪓 Battle Axes

The custom Battle Axe lineup has been expanded and improved.

• Added a brand-new Copper Battle Axe

• Copper artwork is based on the original Iron Battle Axe and recolored to match Minecraft's copper equipment

• Copper Battle Axe includes the pack's custom Battle Axe combat mechanics

• Copper Battle Axe can be crafted using Copper Ingots

• Copper Battle Axe can also appear as a Movie Wandering Trader trade

• Diamond Battle Axes can now be properly upgraded into Netherite Battle Axes using a Smithing Table

• Netherite Battle Axes can no longer be crafted directly or purchased from the trader, maintaining vanilla Diamond → Netherite progression

✨ Enchantment Improvements

Custom enchantable weapons now properly display the Minecraft enchantment glint while equipped.

This includes the Battle Axes and other supported custom weapons.

🧙 Movie Wandering Trader Rebalance

The custom Movie Wandering Trader previously spawned far too frequently and could occasionally generate several traders in the same area.

Its spawning system has been reworked to behave much closer to the vanilla Wandering Trader:

• Spawn checks occur every 20 minutes

• Initial spawn chance begins at 2.5%

• Failed attempts increase the chance to 5%, then 7.5%

• Chance resets after a successful spawn

• Only one Movie Wandering Trader can naturally occupy the local area

• Fixed an issue that could cause several traders to spawn during a single successful attempt

👹 Malgosha & The Great Hog

The pack's major Nether encounters have also been adjusted.

• Removed natural spawning on Peaceful difficulty

• Malgosha and the Great Hog remain rare natural encounters

• Both are now persistent once spawned and remain until defeated

• The Great Hog no longer disappears simply because the player travels away

• Natural spawning prevents duplicate Malgoshas within 128 blocks

• Natural spawning prevents duplicate Great Hogs within 128 blocks

• Malgosha and the Great Hog can still spawn together

• Additional bosses can still exist in distant areas of the same world

This keeps them feeling like important encounters without limiting the entire Minecraft world to only one of each.

🔱 Vanilla Spear Compatibility

The add-on's original Spear and Spear Piglin have been removed.

Minecraft now includes its own vanilla Spears, and keeping the add-on's older custom Spear would result in duplicate weapons with different mechanics, balance, and behavior.

Removing the custom Spear system keeps the add-on better aligned with modern vanilla Minecraft and avoids unnecessary duplication.

🔧 Additional Fixes

Several older add-on inconsistencies and leftover development issues have also been cleaned up, including:

• Invalid JSON comments

• Obsolete entity references

• Broken or unused entity events

• Pack icon formatting

• Hammer Piglin component references

• Great Hog behavior leftovers

• Updated pack metadata and presentation

• New modernized pack icon

🎮 Goal of This Version

The goal is not to redesign the original add-on.

Instead, this project aims to preserve the experience of A Minecraft Movie Add-on while updating areas that have become outdated, correcting bugs, improving balance, and keeping its custom mechanics compatible with newer vanilla Minecraft features.
