Forming a raid or dungeon group in Classic WoW can be chaotic. When you list your group, the flood of incoming "inv" whispers can easily bury important messages from your friends, guildmates, or the specific roles you are actually looking for. Worse, it’s impossible to politely reply to every single person you have to decline, meaning dozens of players are left hanging, waiting for an invite that isn't coming.
Think of it as a Smart /dnd for Group Leaders.
Whitelisted is an intelligent chat manager designed to save your sanity. Instead of blocking everyone with a generic /dnd, Whitelisted allows you to filter incoming whispers based on your current group needs.
It effectively "pauses" whispers from classes you are not currently recruiting, keeping your chat log clean and readable, while (optionally) sending a polite, automated reply to let those players know you are full.
Why use Whitelisted?
- Organize the Chaos: Your chat window becomes a curated stream of relevant candidates. If you are looking for a Healer, only Healers (and your friends) break through the silence.
- Strict vs. Intent-Based Filtering: You control how aggressive the filter is. In Strict Mode (default), un-permitted classes are blocked no matter what they say. Switch to Intent-Based Mode, and the addon will only block them if their whisper actually contains an LFG keyword (like "inv" or "dps"), ensuring friendly strangers just saying hello aren't accidentally ignored.
- The "Courtesy" Auto-Reply: Instead of ignoring players, the addon can automatically send a customizable, polite whisper to filtered players (e.g., "Sorry, we are full on Melee DPS!"). This saves you time and gives them immediate closure.
- Smart Conversational Bypass: The "Smart Shield" feature automatically whitelists any player you manually whisper for 5 minutes. You can have a normal conversation with anyone, regardless of their class, without toggling the addon off.
- Zero Friendly-Fire: Built-in safeguards ensure that whispers from your Guildmates and Friends List are never filtered, no matter what settings you have active.
Core Features
Intelligent Protection
- Burst Throttling: Includes a global safety valve that detects massive whisper spikes (e.g., listing a highly popular raid). It automatically throttles outgoing auto-replies to protect your account from server-side spam disconnects.
- Silence Protection: If a player is filtered, the addon temporarily silences subsequent alerts from them for 3 minutes. This prevents "spammy" players from cluttering your screen or triggering multiple auto-replies.
- Silent Mode: Prefer not to send an auto-reply? You can toggle replies off entirely. This silently hides unmatched whispers, perfectly replicating the experience of a busy leader who simply doesn't have time to respond.
Native Localization
The engine is fully localized and recognizes class names and LFG slang in multiple languages. It automatically adapts to the client language of the user:

The UI is designed for speed and clarity, organizing your recruitment into four clean tabs:
Quick-Access Shortcuts
- LFG Tab Quick-Menu: Native integration! A dedicated "Whitelisted" tab attaches directly to the bottom of the Blizzard Group Finder. Shift-clicking this tab opens a lightweight Quick-Menu, allowing you to check or uncheck your permitted classes on the fly without ever opening the main settings panel.
- Minimap Icon: Hover to see your daily blocked stats; Right-click to toggle the filter entirely; Shift-click for the Quick-Class menu.
1. General
Global controls for the engine.
- Filter Status & Strict Mode: Toggle the entire addon or swap between Strict/Intent filtering.
- LFG Strict Mode: Option to only activate the filter when you are the Party Leader and actively listed in the LFG tool. When you are solo questing, your chat behaves completely normally.
2. Filters
Manage how the addon "talks back."
- Auto-Reply Settings: Customize the polite message sent to filtered players.
- Keyword Exceptions: Define "Safe Words" (e.g., summon, portal) that always bypass the filter, ensuring utility players can reach you.
3. Class List
Your recruitment dashboard.
- Visual Grid: A simple 3x3 grid of the 9 Classic classes. Simply check the boxes of the classes you need.
- Quick Sync: Changes here update instantly across the addon, including the Minimap and LFG tab shortcuts.
4. Log
A historical record of who contacted you.
- Categorized Feed: Whispers are sorted by Class, allowing you to quickly review candidates you might have missed.
- One-Click Invite: See a player in the log you want to bring along? Click their entry to instantly open a whisper.
Getting Started
- Install & Log In: The addon works out-of-the-box with smart defaults.
- Open the Menu: Type
/wl or click the Minimap icon.
- Select Your Needs: Go to the Class List tab and select the classes you want to recruit.
- Go Live: List your group in the LFG tool. The addon will now manage the flow of incoming whispers for you.
Supported Commands
/wl : Opens the Configuration Panel./wl toggle : Instantly enables/disables the engine (useful for macros).
