Getting Started

1. Install: Extract the AdventurePlates folder into your World of Warcraft\_classic_era_\Interface\AddOns\ directory (or Retail _retail_\Interface\AddOns\).
2. Open the Studio: Type /plate edit or right-click the Minimap button.
3. Pose & Dress: Rotate your 3D avatar, select your animation pose, pick your favorite zone backdrop, and click Reflect Current Gear.
4. Set Your Profile: Choose your Preferred Role, Playstyle badges, Social Preference, active schedule, and write your motto.
5. Save & Publish: Click Save & Publish. Your plate is now broadcast-ready!
6. Inspect Others: Right-click any fellow adventurer in the world or chat and select "View Adventure Plate".

Supported Commands

• /plate or /plates or /adv: Opens your personal Adventure Plate.
• /plate edit: Opens the WYSIWYG Plate Studio / Editor.
• /plate <player>: Inspects the Adventure Plate of another player by name.
• /plate reset: Clears your local 1-hour profile cache.

• Q: What happens if I inspect someone who doesn't have Adventure Plates installed?
  Adventure Plates automatically detects when a player doesn't have the addon. Within 1.5 seconds, it gracefully renders a dynamic native fallback card using their live 3D character model, level, race, class, and guild, with no errors or frozen screens.

• Q: Does Adventure Plates cause lag or chat spam?
  No. Communication happens strictly on-demand via invisible addon whispers (CHAT_MSG_ADDON) using a compact 200-byte binary/hex encoding. It never sends public chat messages or floods server channels.

• Q: Can I hide my plate from strangers?
  Yes. The editor includes Privacy settings (Everyone, Friends & Guild Only, or Private). When set to Private, your addon automatically drops incoming queries.

• Q: Does this work on Classic Era, Hardcore, and Retail?
  Yes. Multi-flavor TOC files ensure compatibility across Classic Era, Hardcore, Season of Discovery, and Retail / Mainline clients.
