VoidPlates

Clean, readable enemy nameplates for Midnight: see who's casting, what to kick and who it's aimed at.

VoidPlates replaces the default enemy nameplates with flat, easy-to-read plates built for Midnight's rules. Every cast shows whether you can kick it and who it targets, the plate flashes when a kickable cast starts and turns red past halfway, and your own debuffs, crowd control and enemy buffs sit right above the bar. It works the same in the open world, dungeons, Mythic+ and raids.

Features

Casts you can act on

  • Kick color — the cast bar is bright green when you can interrupt it, grey when you can't
  • Kick flash — the whole plate pulses yellow when a kickable cast starts, and turns red once the cast is past halfway, so you know when it's now or never
  • Who it's aimed at — the target's name, in their class color, on the right of the cast bar
  • Aimed at you — a white frame round the cast bar when the spell is coming at you
  • Important casts — a pink edge on casts Blizzard marks as important
  • Casting plates jump to the front so a cast is never hidden behind another plate

The mob at a glance

  • Health — percent on the right, optional short number (1.2M) on the left
  • Level and elite / rare icon next to the name, level colored by difficulty
  • Color by mob type — casters, mini-bosses and bosses stand out before the pull
  • Threat colors — orange when a tank loses a mob, or when a non-tank pulls one
  • Raid markers on the plate

Auras that matter

  • Your debuffs with timers and stacks
  • Crowd control on the enemy
  • Purgeable buffs and enrages your group can remove
  • Enemy buffs — shields, empowers and more, after your debuffs

Less clutter

  • Target arrows on your current target, with every other plate faded
  • Small plates for minions and minor mobs — pets, totems, guardians and trash adds get a compact plate; their casts still show
  • Optional target / focus outline

Setup

  • Profiles — save, load and delete setups, or reset everything to defaults
  • Plate size, cast bar height, name and aura size, all adjustable
  • Clickable area and stacking — Blizzard's own settings, right there in the panel

Slash Commands

Command What it does
/vplates Open the VoidPlates options

Getting Started

  1. Install with the CurseForge app, or copy the VoidPlates folder into World of Warcraft/_retail_/Interface/AddOns/.
  2. Restart WoW or /reload.
  3. Enemy nameplates switch to VoidPlates straight away. Type /vplates (or Esc → Options → AddOns → VoidPlates) to adjust them.

Good to Know

  • Enemy plates only. Your personal resource bar and friendly plates stay Blizzard's.
  • Midnight keeps some combat details hidden from addons (enemy spell details, some health and threat values inside instances). VoidPlates hands those straight to the display, so everything above works in Mythic+ and raids, but it can't build lists of specific spells or show what a mob is targeting.
  • The clickable area is one setting for all plates (the game doesn't let addons size it per plate), and it only changes out of combat.
  • Settings and profiles are saved account-wide.

Compatibility

  • WoW 12.1.5 (Midnight Season 2)
  • Standalone — nothing else to install
  • Matches the look of the other Void addons

Solo dev. Void* addons are built for raiders who'd rather see boss mechanics in-game than alt-tab to a guide. I also ship a few mobile apps (hot tub care, RV routing, privacy-first budgeting). Full lineup at tinkerline.io
