Your next upgrade might already be in your recipe book.

Smithers compares the gear you have equipped with the Blacksmithing recipes your character already knows. Pick a slot to see your strongest learned candidates, what stats would change, and which materials you have in your bags.

Built specifically for World of Warcraft Forever 1.60.x. This download is not for Retail, Classic Era or other WoW editions.

Make more of the recipes you already know

• Personal comparisons: only your own learned Blacksmithing recipes are considered. Unlearned recipes and other players' profession books are excluded.
• Advice for your current build: Automatic reads your applied talents and selects a stat-weight profile. You can also choose a manual profile for another role or a hybrid build.
• Top candidates by equipment slot: compare up to three leading candidates with your currently equipped item, including visible stat gains and losses.
• Useful material counts: see what you have in your bags, or filter to recipes with materials ready. Forge, anvil and tool access still need checking in the native recipe.
• Updates as you play: comparisons respond to equipment, talents, level, learned recipes and bag changes. Comparisons pause during combat and refresh afterward.
• Native tooltips and recipes: inspect the item, then use View recipe to open the learned recipe in Blacksmithing. Smithers never crafts or equips anything automatically.

Open it your way

Smithers can open and close with your Blacksmithing profession window. Those are separate options, so you can leave it open while planning your next craft.

Use the gold forge minimap button, Forever's numbered addon menu below the calendar, or /smithers. Drag the title bar to move the window, drag the minimap button around the map, or hide the minimap button if you prefer. Your profile, filters, selected slot, position and window options are saved for each character.

Getting started

1. Enable Smithers and open your own Blacksmithing window to read your learned recipes.
2. Leave Profile: Automatic selected, or choose a profile for the role you want to compare.
3. Pick an equipment slot. Hover the items and comparisons for details.
4. Choose View recipe when you want to inspect a candidate in the native profession window.

Upgrades + weapon reviews focuses the list on estimated improvements and changes of weapon setup. Turn it off to compare your best learned items even when your equipped gear scores higher. /smithers center resets the window position; /smithers minimap show restores a hidden minimap button.

What the recommendation means

Smithers uses transparent, approximate stat weights. The score is a comparison aid, not a combat simulation, item level or a percentage gain in damage/healing. Weapon setup changes are marked for review. Procs, enchants, set bonuses, stat caps and weapon-speed effects are not fully modeled, so check the native tooltip before spending materials.

Automatic profiles cover Forever's nine classes using their applied talent trees. The initial live verification was on a Paladin; other class profiles are starting estimates and have not all been tested in gameplay. Tied or unavailable builds show a labeled fallback, and manual profiles remain available. Feral automatically uses damage weights; bear-oriented comparisons need a manual defensive profile.
