EquipMe Gear Advisor

Spot gear upgrades in your bags, loot and owned heirlooms, with native green arrows, clear stat comparisons and optional equip prompts for your current spec.

EquipMe

That upgrade might already be sitting in your bags.

EquipMe checks all your carried bags against your equipped gear and helps you spot useful upgrades for your current class and specialization. Native green arrows, readable comparisons and optional reminders bring the useful choices to your attention without making you sort through every item yourself.

See what is worth a closer look

  • Check all carried gear. Recommendations update as your bags, equipment, level and specialization change.
  • See why it is recommended. See the item or complete weapon setup it would replace, green stat gains, red stat losses, native item tooltips and the reason for the recommendation.
  • Keep the useful choices together. The Upgrades tab includes selected bag upgrades, owned-heirloom opportunities and items that need manual review. Its count covers the whole list, including later pages.
  • Use familiar Warcraft indicators. EquipMe uses WoW's native shaded green upgrade arrows. Readable comparisons can keep their arrows during combat; automatic reminders and equipment actions wait until combat ends.

Find upgrades where you are already looking

Optional arrows highlight selected usable upgrades and supported weapon-setup recommendations in these native windows:

  • Separate and combined bags.
  • Quest reward choices and rewards.
  • Group loot-roll popups and the loot window.
  • Vendor item lists.
  • Encounter Journal loot, using your selected native filters and difficulty.
  • Your owned Heirlooms collection.

Acquisition comparisons include the gear you already carry. An equal or weaker extra copy will not become an upgrade just because you ignored a bag item's reminder. Paired slots, weapon setups and Unique-Equipped restrictions are considered too.

If your current weapon setup does not fit a supported specialization, EquipMe can recommend a suitable two-handed or ranged replacement from your bags or owned heirlooms. It checks weapon damage and the disclosed stat estimate, while keeping the real gains and losses from both equipped hands visible. A verified bag copy offers Equip Item directly.

Put your heirlooms to work

EquipMe checks the full owned collection, not just the page currently visible. Optional heirloom alerts show useful opportunities with Open Heirlooms, Settings and Dismiss actions. Open Heirlooms reveals the specific recommendation, adjusting native filters, search and page if necessary. Click the item in WoW to create a copy, then equip the copy from your bags; opening the collection alone does not create or equip it. The alert setting is independent of collection arrows and the Upgrades list.

When every measured stat ties, a confirmed heirloom is preferred over a known ordinary item. This is explained as a preference, with no invented score bonus. Another equal copy of an heirloom already in your bags remains redundant.

Known-effect equipment can also fill an empty slot even when it has no numeric stats at your current level. These choices say Fills an empty slot and make clear that the special effects are not ranked.

You control the reminders

An eligible bag comparison offers Equip Item, Keep equipped and Ignore item. Supported weapon-setup recommendations can be equipped from the popup after the exact bag item, current recommendation and equipped hands are rechecked. A replacement that displaces both hands needs one free general-purpose bag slot for the offhand. Other uncertain bag comparisons offer Open Bags, with instructions for using WoW's own equipment controls.

  • X dismisses the reminder until something is moved, added or removed from your bags. The item stays in Upgrades for another look.
  • Keep equipped sets the suggestion aside until your equipped-gear context changes.
  • Ignore item saves the choice for this character and specialization. Restore individual entries or the whole saved list from Ignores.

Upgrade prompts start enabled. Automatic equipping is optional and off by default; it is limited to strictly eligible, freshly verified bag gear outside combat. WoW's binding confirmations stay under your control. Weapon-setup replacements require your explicit click and remain separate from automatic equipping. EquipMe never buys items, chooses quest rewards, rolls on loot or creates heirlooms for you.

The advisor and comparison window can be dragged independently. Settings also include the optional minimap button, arrows, heirloom alerts, notification sound, pause, comparison threshold and window-position reset. Settings are saved per character.

A helpful estimate, with clear limits

Profiles cover all 40 current Retail specializations, with a class fallback before specialization. The screening score uses 1.00 for the profile's primary attribute and 0.35 each for Crit, Haste, Mastery and Versatility rating. These neutral weights are a starting estimate, not simulated performance or a best-in-slot guarantee.

Weapon damage, native usability, armor families and unique limits receive separate checks. Known-spec items providing only a different primary attribute cannot win on secondary score alone. Weapon guidance preserves valid alternatives while checking relevant restrictions. Procs, sets, gems, enchants, sockets and other trade-offs may need manual review. Complete swaps requiring two new hand-slot items are not assembled as a single equipment plan. Unreadable or incomplete data is withheld rather than treated as a confirmed upgrade. EquipMe does not claim race-specific or talent-specific numerical optimization.

This release supports WoW Retail 12.1.5 and the native bag interface. Bank storage and third-party bag interfaces are not supported.

Getting started

Install EquipMe, then open it with /equipme, /em, the minimap button or WoW's addon menu. Visit Settings to choose the reminders you want.

Thanks for trying EquipMe. If a recommendation looks wrong, please share your class/spec, the item names and the comparison shown so we can investigate it.
