What it does
Slam resets your swing timer, so the whole spec comes down to hitting it at the right moment after each white swing. Miss by a bit and you're just losing auto attack uptime. Hit it too early, before the swing actually lands, and the reset eats that swing completely. That one hurts. It's a full 3.6 seconds of nothing.
Most swing timers show you a bar and leave the rest to you. Slammy plays a short click just before the swing lands, so you can hit Slam on the sound and keep your eyes on the fight.
The click accounts for your latency, and it calibrates itself. It watches how late you're actually pressing and shifts the timing until you're landing where you should. It aims a fraction late on purpose, since being slightly late only costs you that fraction, while being early costs you a whole swing.
If haste gets high enough that a Mortal Strike no longer fits before your next Slam, the click changes pitch. That's usually the moment people's rotations fall apart under lust, because nothing in the default UI tells you it happened.
On the bar
- Weave counter. Shows
WEAVE 1orNO WEAVEand updates the moment your swing speed changes. If DST procs on top of a haste pot, you'll see it go red immediately. - Two danger zones. The wider one is the last 1.5s of the swing, where pressing an instant will push your Slam past the swing. The narrow one at the very end is where starting a Slam destroys the swing outright. Different mistakes, different colours.
- Markers for the last moment an MS or WW is safe, and for where to hit Slam so it lands on time with your latency factored in.
- Your Slam cast is drawn on the same bar, so you can see it running against the swing.
Coaching (optional)
If you want it, Slammy will call the next ability: Slam on the swing, MS or WW if there's a full GCD of room, Execute under 20%, HS only when you're about to cap rage. It shuts up when the right answer is to wait, which is most of the time in this spec.
There's also a lust-window helper that walks you through the burst (hold for the first clean auto, Death Wish, build your trinket stacks, Reck at the end of a swing, stop weaving once haste is up), a rage warning before you cap, and a nag if you Rend or Thunder Clap. Both of those cost you around 200 DPS on this build.
Numbers
After each fight it prints your slam count, how many you missed, how many swings you ate by pressing early, your median delay in ms, and roughly how many auto attacks that delay cost you. It keeps per-boss history too, so you can see whether you're actually improving week to week instead of guessing.
There's a practice mode that shows your last ten slams as a row of coloured blocks with a running median. Handy for warming up on trash.
Fury, Prot, kebab
Slammy checks what you're wearing and specced into:
| Setup | What you get |
|---|---|
| 2H with 2/2 Improved Slam | everything above |
| Dual wield (kebab or Fury) | separate main hand and off hand bars. No click, no coaching |
| Prot, or 2H without Improved Slam | plain swing bar |
It rechecks on weapon swaps and respecs, so swapping sets mid-raid works fine.
About the timings
I didn't take the mechanics from a guide. The addon has a recorder built into it, and I used that to check how Slam actually behaves on live Anniversary realms over a few hundred swings: when the reset happens, whether haste shortens the cast (it doesn't), what a cancelled Slam does, and what happens to a swing that comes due mid-cast.
That recorder ships with the addon. Turn it on in the settings and it'll tell you whether your client matches what the bar assumes. If something doesn't line up, it says so and points you at the issue tracker.
Setup
Install, /reload, then /slammy to open the settings. Drag the bar somewhere you can see it,
lock it, and play a few pulls by ear. Check /slammy report afterwards to see how your timing
went.
