Questionable Drops
Ever wondered why that random mob dropped a letter that started a whole questline? Questionable Drops tells you before you pull: it shows which mobs can drop an item that starts a quest, and only if it's a quest you can still do.
Made for WoW: Forever.
Features
- Mob tooltips – hover over a mob to see the item it can drop, the drop chance, roughly how many kills that takes (e.g. 0.53% drop, ~190 kills), and the quest it starts.
- Nameplate icons – mobs that can drop a quest starter get the item's icon next to their nameplate, so you can spot them from a distance.
- Drop browser – type
/qd browsefor a list of every quest starter drop you can still use:- search by item, quest, mob or zone
- filter to your current zone, hide completed quests, show rare drops
- hover a row to see every mob that drops the item, with level, zone, spawn coordinates and drop chance
- click to set a waypoint to the nearest spawn area (TomTom, or the built-in map pin)
- right-click for the item's Wowhead link, shift-click to link the item in chat
- Bag reminder – carrying an item that starts a quest you haven't picked up yet? You'll get a reminder in chat.
- Smart filtering – drops are hidden when:
- you've already completed the quest
- the quest is in your quest log
- you already have the item in your bags or bank
- the quest isn't for your race or class (Skyborne included)
- you've completed a quest that excludes it
- Helpful hints – shows when you're too low level for the quest (level 20) or still need a previous quest in the chain.
- Rare drops hidden – drops below 0.1% (e.g. 4 out of 88,000 kills) are hidden by default, and you can turn them on.
- Quick access – open the browser from the Esc menu, the minimap button or via a key binding (Key Bindings → AddOns).
- Lightweight – no libraries, no dependencies, and it only does work when something actually changes: a mob under your cursor, your quest log, or your quest items.

Data
Quest and item data comes from QuestieDB (Forever), including all of its corrections. Drop chances, and the spawn locations QuestieDB doesn't have yet, come from Wowhead Forever. The current data version is shown at the bottom of the settings page.
Items that NPCs hand out instead of dropping (like the Elegant Letter from rogue trainers) are left out.
The QuestieDB data for Forever is still being filled in, so some quest-starting drops may be missing. The addon gets updated as QuestieDB grows.
Found a missing drop?
Target the mob, type /qd target and report the result, along with the item and the quest, in the comments or on the issue tracker.
Credits
Huge thanks to the Questie team for QuestieDB. Without their work, this addon wouldn't exist.
