Highlights

• Separate downloads: Proto Core, Proto Tools and Proto Threat have their own pages; the CurseForge app installs Proto Core for you and your settings come across (open the app and click Update)
• Who Results: every /who listed with who it found; click to whisper, right-click to invite, Full list past the 50-player limit (Spam > Who Results)
• Group Finder whisper: left-click a group to whisper the leader the dungeon, your level and your roles
• Proto users: a purple P before the names of players running Proto (Settings > General > Proto users)
• Boss fights: Group Finder scanning pauses ("Paused: boss fight") and picks up after (on by default)
• /proto for every Proto addon (/proto v for versions), and one minimap button: right-click opens Settings

1.8.8 (2026-10-05)

• /who answers show in chat again (the game's lines), and the Who pop-up still comes up; the I key stays the Group Finder and the game's Who window stays shut. Settings > "/who lines in chat" (on) to hide them; "Game's /who too" (off) for the game's Who window as before.
• A profession link that won't open because the player is on the other half of the server (Forever runs each ruleset as two hidden servers) now says so.
• Separate downloads: Proto Core (the shared code), Proto Tools and Proto Threat have their own CurseForge pages now and aren't in this zip. The CurseForge app installs Proto Core with it.
• Settings are now also kept in Proto Core, so they survive the move to separate downloads.
• Tidy (no change you'd see): the chat filter runs as a Proto Core step, ServiceShop is reached through Proto Core, "already whispered" comes from Proto Core's one list, and the Group Finder and Browser code is split into smaller files (filters, List me, quick recruit, settings, export).
• Group Finder scanning pauses during a boss fight ("Paused: boss fight"): the game hides its search results then, and the searches only cost key presses.
• Proto Threat (threat and damage meter, threat beside enemy nameplates) is a separate download on CurseForge. It isn't part of this zip.
• Group Finder whisper (left-click a group): now says what and who: "LFG Shadowfang Keep (Dungeon) - 22 Healer" for a dungeon or raid (its kind, your level, your roles); "Healer LFG <quest>", "Healer LFG <battleground>" or "Healer LFG custom group" for the rest.
• Proto Link's channel, hello and version check moved into Proto Core (every Proto addon uses them now). Settings > General no longer has Proto Link and New version notification: they're on the Proto Core settings tab.
• Minimap button right-click now opens Settings (without ServiceShop it used to pause the chat filter; that's still /proto lfg pause and the window's button).
• Proto Link now sends your full version, betas included ("1.8.8-beta2"). The "new version is out" notice ignores beta and test versions entirely, so a beta never sets it off for anyone.
• Pop-ups: their look and buttons come from the Core's notification styles. Group Finder pop-ups have a style of their own ("group"); invite, Group Finder and /who pop-ups leave out Link by their style instead of each asking for it.
