PranTools

Niche quality of life (QoL) improvements for my personal WoW gaming and developing experience. These tools are only ever intended to be used by me, so if anyone else decides to use them, do so at your own risk. Who knows what might change and when :)

Slash Commands

• /pran: Opens the PranTools options window
• /pran spec [name]: Quickly trigger a specialization swap based on your class using spec name or common abbreviations.
  • For a little fun and silliness, you can provide "random" or "rand" as the spec name to swap to any random specialization for your class

Current Capabilities

Use OmniCastbar

OmniCastbar is derived from a WeakAura that I created and used previously. It provides a clean & simple replacement cast bar to the one provided in-game by default. The castbar shows the icon of the spell being cast, the name, and the remaining cast/channel time using a single flat rectangular texture.

• Colored using the class color of whichever class you are playing
• Fills left-to-right for regular spells, and right-to-left for channeled spells
• Supports empowered spells with markers for up to 4 empowered stages

Toggle slash command: /pran castbar

UI Preferences

Always Hide Friendly Nameplates

Resolves an ongoing bug where chosen friendly nameplate preferences are reset upon entering an instance, causing them to be shown even when the option to hide them was previously hidden.

Toggle slash command: /pran fnp

Shrink Macro Text

Reduces the size of the macro name when it is present on an action bar. Inspired by the ability to remove macro names entirely available in Leatrix Plus.

Toggle slash command: /pran mt

Garbage Collection

Runs the internal Lua garbage collection script whenever a load screen appears. This can sometimes help free up memory and reduce frame drops when a memory-heavy process is running continuously (other AddOns, in-game processes, bugs, etc.). Inspired by the garbage collection feature in Titan Panel.

Toggle slash command: /pran gc

Development & Debugging

Statistics IDs

Shows the achievementID associated with in-game statistics in a tooltip when hovering over one.

Toggle slash command: /pran stataids

Achievement Search IDs

Shows the achievementID associated with achievements in a tooltip when hovering over one in the list of search result(s).

Toggle slash command: /pran searchaids

Print Boss Kills

Prints the name and encounterID of an instance boss when the BOSS_KILL event is triggered to the chat window.

Toggle slash command: /pran boss
