**Mute Grunts** is a lightweight World of Warcraft Classic addon that silences the random, immersion-breaking *grunts*, *groans*, *sighs*, and *wounded noises* your character makes during combat, jumping, or taking minor damage.

## 🔧 How It Works

World of Warcraft Classic supports **file path overrides**. This addon provides **silent `.ogg` files** with the exact same paths and filenames as Blizzard's original character sound files.

When you load the game, WoW will prioritize these files — effectively replacing annoying vocalizations with silence.

There is **no performance impact** and it's a fully supported, safe method used by many sound-based addons.

## 🎮 Installation

1. Download and unzip into your AddOns folder:  
   `Interface/AddOns/MuteGrunts`

2. Restart WoW Classic or type `/reload`

3. If installed correctly, your character will stop making grunt/sigh sounds during gameplay

4. Optional: A message in your chat will confirm mute status on login

## 📝 Notes

- This does **not** mute /sigh emotes or scripted NPC voices
- Death sounds are preserved (they're useful and thematic)
- If your character still makes noises, double-check the addon folder structure
