Absolution: Salvation control for tanks.
Blessing of Salvation is a gift to everyone except the person holding the boss. Absolution hands it back, politely, before it costs you threat.
How it works
- Out of combat, Salv is cancelled the moment it lands. You never think about it
- In combat the game does not let addons remove buffs on their own, so Absolution shows an icon. Press your Cancel Salv key or click the icon, and it is gone
- Right-click the icon to keep Salv for that fight. Off-tanking adds, swapping to DPS, your call
- Anything left over is cancelled the second combat ends
Knows when you are tanking
- Warrior: Defensive Stance
- Druid: Bear or Dire Bear Form
- Paladin: Righteous Fury
Swap to Battle Stance to DPS and Salv stays. No commands to remember.
Modes
- When tanking: the default
- Always: cancelled in every stance and form
- Off: Salv stays. The key still works if you press it
Modes are saved per character, so your tank and your DPS alt never argue.
Also cancel (optional, off by default)
- Power Word: Shield, which stops a warrior gaining rage from the hits it absorbs
- Blessing of Protection, which stops you attacking
- Mana buffs: Wisdom, Intellect and Spirit
Setup takes a minute
Click the minimap button or type /absol. Set your Cancel Salv key and drag the icon where your eyes already are. You should rarely need to open it again.
Commands
- /absol opens settings
- /absol tank, /absol always, /absol off switch modes
- /absol unlock and /absol lock move the icon
Beta
Tested on Classic Era 1.15.9 with a warrior tank. Druid and paladin detection is new, so reports from bears and paladins are very welcome.
No libraries. Spell IDs instead of names, so every client language works. Nothing in chat unless you ask for it.
