Legacy Keeper: Profile Manager
Plan your Legacy. Keep your builds organized. Compare before you commit.
Legacy Keeper: Profile Manager is a planning and profile addon for World of Warcraft: Forever. It brings a separate working draft, named profiles, rank comparisons, challenges, and rewards together in one place.
Prepare different Legacy ideas, keep them available across your characters, and inspect how a draft differs from the current character. All rank edits inside the planner are virtual: Legacy Keeper never spends your character's points.
Version 0.1.0 - beta preparation: The implemented features have been checked offline against public Forever interface sources. Testing in a running Forever client is still pending, including original artwork, tooltip accuracy, controller behavior, and persistence across game sessions. This is an early development build, and client compatibility is not yet confirmed.
Main Features
- A working draft kept separately from your named profiles
- Global profiles shared through the same account's addon storage
- Virtual rank changes for supported single-entry Legacy nodes
- Draft comparisons showing added, removed, changed, and unchanged ranks
- Cost estimates and validation notes based on available client data
- Original client descriptions and rank tooltips where available
- Challenge categories, criteria, progress, local search, and status filters
- A read-only reward overview with separate details
- Original client artwork and source-defined dimensions for the game content
- A separate companion panel for the addon's planning and analysis controls
- A movable launcher, proportional UI scaling, and addon options
- Copyable session diagnostics for troubleshooting
Your Working Draft
The working draft is where you explore a build before saving it. It remains separate from your profiles, so experimenting with a plan does not silently overwrite a saved build.
For supported single-entry nodes, use the planning controls to increase or decrease the virtual rank. The companion panel shows the available comparison, cost, and validation information. When a complete active snapshot is available without pending changes, Copy active can use the current character's ranks as the starting point.
Loading a profile brings it into the working draft. Further edits stay in that draft until you explicitly save them. This makes it possible to keep a baseline build while preparing another idea.
Named Profiles Across Characters
Give profiles your own names and keep several plans available for different characters, activities, or build ideas. Profiles and the working draft use global addon storage within the same account's SavedVariables.
- Save as new: Store the working draft as a new named profile.
- Update loaded: Update the profile from which the draft was loaded, following confirmation.
- Load selected: Bring the selected profile into the working draft.
- Rename selected: Change the selected profile's name.
- Delete selected: Remove the selected profile through the confirmation flow.
Shared storage does not synchronize profiles between separate accounts or game installations. A shared plan also does not imply that every character meets its requirements. Back up your SavedVariables before testing early versions.
Compare Your Draft With Your Character
Legacy Keeper separates the plan you are editing from the ranks reported for the current character. Comparisons identify nodes that have been added, removed, changed, or left unchanged.
Unavailable information stays explicitly unknown. Incomplete data or pending changes in the original game window are not treated as a confirmed purchased build. This helps keep a missing snapshot from looking like a character with no ranks.
Cost estimates reflect the data available from the current client state. They are planning guidance, not a guarantee that the entire hypothetical build can be purchased. Full prerequisite simulation, exact costs for every future rank, numerical effect calculations, and projected character stats are outside the current scope.
Challenges and Progress
Browse Legacy challenges by category and inspect their criteria and reported progress. The challenge page includes a local search and All, Open, Completed, and Unknown filters.
The search works within Legacy Keeper and leaves the game's global search state untouched. Its results are therefore not guaranteed to match the original search exactly.
Completion artwork follows the current character's completion information. Where the client provides the necessary data, the display includes progressive challenge points, completion details, and tracking indicators. Tracking indicators are informational; Legacy Keeper does not change the game's tracking state.
Rewards at a Glance
The reward page provides a read-only view of the Legacy reward track with native reward tooltips and additional information in the companion panel. Reward and Paragon displays use the client data available for the current character.
A reward checkmark indicates that its level has been reached. Collection and unlock information are shown separately, so reaching a level is not presented as proof that a reward has been collected.
Legacy Keeper does not claim rewards or perform unlock actions.
Original Artwork and Tooltips
The game-content area uses original client artwork, native templates, and dimensions taken from the public Forever interface sources. Its base window is 920 x 575, with the addon's own controls placed in a separate companion panel. UI scaling is proportional.
Node icons, masks, connections, reward elements, and challenge artwork use original client resources. Missing original resources are hidden and reported instead of being replaced with substitute game graphics.
Where supported, tooltips request the client's own descriptions for the selected planned or active rank. General-description fallbacks are clearly identified in the analysis. Special-node presentation includes selection, subtree, split-icon, and capstone cases, while these special node types remain read-only in the planner.
The implementation follows the available source material. Exact appearance, sizing, and mouseover parity still require comparison in the actual Forever client.
Window Controls and Settings
Open Legacy Keeper with its floating launcher or a slash command. Left-click the launcher to toggle the window and right-click it to open options. The launcher can be moved while unlocked.
The main pages are Plan, Profiles, Challenges, Rewards, and Diagnostics. Options provide UI scaling and position controls. The main window closes during combat, and its commands do not open it while combat lockdown is active.
Controller navigation and native prompt footers are prepared for the addon's own windows. Actual controller behavior remains part of the pending client tests.
Getting Started
- Extract the LegacyKeeper folder from the addon ZIP into the Forever client's Interface/AddOns directory.
- Enable the addon for the character you want to test.
- Open it with /legacykeeper or the floating launcher.
- Inspect the current data, then prepare a draft using the supported planning controls.
- Use Save as new to keep the draft as a named profile.
- If client data is unavailable, refresh after it becomes available and check Diagnostics for details.
Slash Commands
- /legacykeeper - Toggle the main window.
- /legacykeeper plan - Open the Plan page.
- /legacykeeper profiles - Open the Profiles page.
- /legacykeeper challenges - Open the Challenges page.
- /legacykeeper rewards - Open the Rewards page.

Current Beta Scope and Compatibility
Legacy Keeper targets World of Warcraft: Forever only. The current public source reference is version 1.60.1, build 70338. This reference is not a completed compatibility test. Support for Retail or other Classic versions is not claimed.
No third-party addons, shared libraries, or external services are required. The built-in Blizzard UI modules declared by the addon must be available for its native presentation. Addon controls are in English; original game text follows the client language.
Version 0.1.0 is a planning and inspection build. It does not apply a build to your character, buy or reset ranks, claim rewards, or provide automatic build recommendations. Unknown rules and unavailable data remain visible limitations.
Debug and Feedback
For a useful bug report, include the steps needed to reproduce the issue, addon and client versions, client language, UI scale, and the relevant report from /legacykeeper debug. For artwork or tooltip differences, include which node, rank, challenge, or reward you inspected.
Diagnostics are limited to the current session and can be copied for a report. Review the copied text before posting. Offline checks cannot confirm live client rendering, protected UI behavior, or persistence after reloads, logouts, and character changes.
