Lafee Cast History Stream
Lafee Cast History Stream displays your recent casts as a moving timeline. It is designed to provide a quick visual record of your actions without requiring a combat log window or a large rotation panel.
The addon works as a standalone World of Warcraft addon and also integrates directly with ElvUI when ElvUI is installed.
Features
- Displays recent player casts on a configurable timeline.
- Supports horizontal and vertical growth directions.
- One-row mode for a compact stream containing every cast.
- Two-row mode with offensive spells on the main row and other abilities above it.
- Optional external-item row below the main row for equipped trinkets and potions carried in your bags.
- Optional base 1.5-second global cooldown reference ticks.
- Optional haste-adjusted GCD ticks.
- Configurable history duration, icon size, maximum icon count, opacity, background and frame strata.
- Optional spell names below icons.
- Filters repeated effects, channel ticks, login event floods and internal Blizzard spells that were not cast by the player.
- Independent settings for every character and specialization.
- Movable standalone frame and native ElvUI mover support.
- LibDataBroker and LibDBIcon minimap launcher.
- No external dependency is required: the minimap libraries are included.
Row layouts
One row
All recorded spells are displayed on the same row. This is the smallest layout and is useful when screen space is limited.
Two rows
Offensive spells remain on the main timeline. Defensive, utility and other non-harmful abilities are displayed on the row above it.
Spell classification uses World of Warcraft's spell information. A few unusual abilities may be classified differently from what their tooltip suggests because their harmful/helpful status is defined by Blizzard.
Trinket and potion row
The optional external-item row places active trinket uses and potion uses below the main timeline. The addon scans both equipped trinket slots and potion items in the character's bags.
If this option is disabled, those item uses remain part of the normal one-row or two-row layout.
GCD reference ticks
The timeline can display two types of global cooldown markers:
- Base GCD: fixed markers every 1.5 seconds.
- Haste-adjusted GCD: markers based on the player's current effective global cooldown.
The addon prefers the live GCD duration reported by the game. When no GCD is active, it calculates a safe fallback from the player's spell haste, including the normal minimum GCD limit. If combat restrictions prevent the current value from being read, the last valid value is retained.
Both marker types can be enabled or disabled independently.
ElvUI integration
When ElvUI is loaded, Lafee Cast History Stream registers itself as an ElvUI plugin.
- The timeline becomes an ElvUI mover named Lafee Cast History Stream.
- Its settings are added directly to the ElvUI configuration window.
- Right-clicking the minimap icon opens the addon's ElvUI settings page.
- Positioning is managed by ElvUI's mover system and follows the active ElvUI profile.
The addon does not force ElvUI_Options to load during login. ElvUI loads its options module normally when the configuration window is opened, preserving compatibility with other ElvUI plugins.
Without ElvUI, the addon uses Blizzard's standard AddOns settings panel. Unlock the frame in the settings, then drag it with the left mouse button. Its standalone position is saved independently for the current character and specialization.
Minimap button
The included LibDataBroker/LibDBIcon launcher provides the following controls:
- Left click: show or hide the cast timeline.
- Right click: open the addon settings.
- Drag: move the minimap button around the minimap.
The minimap button can be disabled in the settings. Its visibility and position are saved per character and specialization.
Per-character and specialization settings
Every character and specialization has an independent configuration. Changing specialization automatically reloads the appropriate settings, including:
- timeline visibility;
- display duration and icon settings;
- row layout and external-item row;
- GCD markers;
- appearance and filtering options;
- standalone frame position;
- minimap button settings.
Settings created by an older addon version are migrated automatically and used as the initial configuration for the new profiles.

The complete configuration interface and minimap tooltip are localized for all currently supported World of Warcraft client languages:

Notes and limitations
- The addon records successful player spellcast events exposed by the World of Warcraft API.
- Passive effects and events without a player spellcast event cannot be displayed reliably.
- Active trinkets and potions must be identifiable through their item-use spell.
- Potion detection scans the character's equipped bags. Bank-only items are not scanned.
- Some multi-hit or triggered abilities may require special handling when Blizzard changes their event behavior.
Feedback
When reporting an issue, please include:
- your class and specialization;
- the affected spell, trinket or potion name;
- whether ElvUI was enabled;
- the selected row layout;
- any Lua error message produced by the game.
