Description

Early version. I've healed dungeons and raids with it, but not a ton yet, so expect a few bugs. Tell me when you hit one.

I heal, and every set of raid frames I tried was built for everyone. I wanted frames that care about what I actually look at mid pull. Who's low, who has a debuff I can remove, what the boss does next, and whether my big cooldown is up for it. That's HealPilot.

It replaces your party and raid frames (there's a switch in the settings to hide Blizzard's). Above them sits a row of boss timers, below them your mana and cooldowns, and before each boss you get a short brief. You can move and resize all of it.

Only you need it. Nobody else in the group has to install anything.

The first time you log in, a quick setup asks a few things: hide the game's frames or not, the look, the size, and whether you want a voice. After that /hp or the minimap button opens the settings, and /hp edit puts up example players in a fake fight so you can set everything up in town.

Frames

Class colours, dark, coloured by health, or one colour you pick. Health as a percent, as missing health ("-182K") or as what's left. Incoming heals and shields show on the bar. Someone who drops low gets a red edge, and people at full health fade back a bit, so your eyes go to the right frame.

Your HoTs sit in their own spots with a timer. Big defensives and the debuffs that matter show up too, along with role icons, raid markers, the leader, ready check and range.

Size, spacing, group direction, text, icons, colours and corners are all up to you. Save one setup for raids and one for dungeons and swap with one click, or send yours to a friend as a line of text.

Dispels

If you can remove a debuff, the frame lights up in its colour, blue for magic, purple for curse and so on. It's bright when your dispel is ready and fades while it's on cooldown, so you don't chase something you can't remove yet.

Boss timers

A row above the frames counts down what the boss does next, and marks each ability by what it means for a healer: group damage, a dispel or a tank hit. It runs off the game's own boss timeline, and off BigWigs if you have it, which knows a lot more.

A few seconds before something lands you get a call-out like "Damage in 3" or "Dispel in 2", on screen and out loud if you want.

Voice

Six recorded voices, or the game's own text to speech. You pick what gets said: incoming damage, dispels, tank hits, your cooldowns coming back, deaths, battle res, time to drink. Each one has its own switch and a button to hear it first.

Mana and cooldowns

A bar under the frames with your mana, a mark for where your mana should be at this point in the fight, your big cooldowns, battle res and Bloodlust. Show it all the time or only in combat.

Boss brief

Before a pull, the brief lists the stuff that hurts from the dungeon journal: deadly abilities, what you can dispel, what hits the tank. Drop your cooldowns on a timeline and HealPilot reminds you a few seconds before each one. You can also read a plan from a raid note, or send yours to the group on ready check.

Click casting

Bind heals to mouse buttons and keys while you hover a frame. It's new and hasn't seen many real fights yet.

Power Infusion (priests)

Pick who gets your PI from a list of your group's DPS, sorted by the game's damage meter. Their frame gets an amber mark and glows the moment they pop their burst while PI is ready, and it can say "Power Infusion, now". No one picked? Every DPS glows during their own burst.

Your external

When your Ironbark, Pain Suppression, Guardian Spirit, Life Cocoon, Blessing of Sacrifice or Time Dilation is ready, anyone under the health you set gets a pale outline and the spell's icon. Tanks get it too right before a tank hit on the timers. This one is brand new, so I haven't tried it in a real fight yet.

Works with

Not needed, but used if you have them:

  • BigWigs: better info on every boss ability, and planned cooldowns that follow the real timers.
  • KeyPilot: what the next pull holds, between pulls in a key.

What it can't do

  • Read health in combat. Blizzard blocked that for addons, so the game draws "who's low" itself from rules HealPilot hands it.
  • Track other players' cooldowns. The game doesn't tell addons.
  • Replace your boss mod. The timers come from the game and from BigWigs.

Languages

English only for now.

Commands

  • /hp settings
  • /hp edit example players in a fake fight
  • /hp brief boss brief
  • /hp welcome the first-time setup again
  • /hp unlock and /hp lock move your real frames
  • /hp setup <name> switch to a saved setup, works in macros
  • /hp voice voice on or off
  • /hp check what the addon can see, handy for bug reports
  • /hp reset frames, timers and bars back where they started

Restart the game after installing. A /reload isn't enough the first time, since it brings its own fonts, art and voices.
