Larger text, comfortable reading, and optional window styling for WoW: Forever.
Forever Readable improves supported quest, NPC dialogue, and book text. Read directly in the original game windows or use a separate, movable and resizable reading window.
Features
- Adjustable font sizes for supported quest, NPC dialogue, and book text.
- Adaptive NPC lists: Recognized conversation options and row heights adjust to larger text.
- Dark and Paper themes for the reading window.
- Automatic reader scrollbars: Visible only when scrolling is needed.
- Optional FR styling for quest, dialogue, trainer, merchant, and book windows.
- Independent bag styling: Keep recognized bags in FR style whenever they are open, or retain their original appearance.
- Independent window scaling: Trainers from 100–150%; merchants and buyback from 100–200%, limited by available screen space.
- Trainer status indicators: Recognized spell icons use color, grayscale, or a red slash to indicate learnability and insufficient gold.
- Merchant tools: Open bags for selling and use “Repair all” at repair vendors.
- Clear controls: Prominent red close icons, a styled Goodbye button, and centered NPC portraits in supported windows.
- Saved preferences with settings export and import.
Repairs happen only after a click and use personal gold. There are no automatic repairs or guild-bank payments.
Getting Started
- Install and enable the addon.
- Type
/fr. - Choose your font sizes and reading theme.
- Enable optional game-window and bag styling independently.
Both styling options are initially disabled. Buying, selling, learning, and quest actions remain available through the original game controls. The additional reader is a text view.

Compatibility and Languages
Designed for WoW: Forever 1.60.1 / Interface 16001. No required addon dependencies.
The addon interface uses German on German clients and English elsewhere. Quest and NPC content stays in the client’s language and is not translated.
Unknown window layouts and third-party replacement UIs may retain their original appearance. Support for Retail, Classic Era, or Anniversary is not claimed.
Feedback and Bug Reports
Please include the addon version, client build, language, and steps to reproduce the issue. Add any Lua error and a /fr status report captured with the affected window open outside combat.
Validation: 130 simulated regression tests passed. Earlier versions received partial in-game user testing; not every window layout or combination with other addons has been verified.
