EK XFaction patch (password popup)

An unofficial companion addon for XFaction 6.2.14 that addresses the annoying channel-password popup during Retail startup.

What it does

• Dismisses a premature password prompt while XFaction connects using the password already provided by your guild.
• Clears a leftover prompt after a successful connection.
• Handles channel joins that finish asynchronously.
• Keeps genuine password-failure prompts and prompts for unrelated channels available.

Installation

Install XFaction and this addon, enable both, then restart WoW or type /reload. No password entry or setup is required. For a manual install, extract XFationPasswordPatch into _retail_/Interface/AddOns alongside XFaction.

Compatibility

Requires XFaction 6.2.14 and WoW Retail. This release leaves other XFaction versions unchanged and prints a compatibility notice. It does not modify XFaction files or saved settings. Disable this companion and reload to remove its changes. It also detects the earlier local file patch and avoids applying the fix twice.

This fix does not bypass passwords or fix an incorrect password in your guild configuration. A brief popup flash may occur before it is dismissed. Twelve automated Lua replay checks pass; in-game confirmation of the reported intermittent issue is pending.

Credits

XFaction is by Chals (US-KhazModan). This is an independent, unofficial patch by pb_666, with adapted channel code distributed under GPL version 3. The icon is an adaptation of the XFaction emblem with PATCH across the front. This project is not an official XFaction release.
