EasyFind: DungeonJournal Extension
EasyFind already finds the bosses, the loot and the dungeons. With this extension, those rows open DungeonJournal: click a boss and the journal opens on its page, the way the Adventure Guide opens on retail; Alt-click an item and the journal opens on the boss that drops it, with the item highlighted; right-click a dungeon to open it or its map in the journal. The journal's dungeon quests are searchable too.
Requires EasyFind 4.1.0 or later and DungeonJournal. Both are listed as required dependencies, so the CurseForge app installs them alongside.
What it adds
- Boss rows: a click opens DungeonJournal on the boss; Alt still lists the boss's loot in the search bar. The tooltip adds the boss's level and dungeon from the journal.
- Item rows: Alt-click opens the journal on the boss that drops the item, with the item highlighted; for a recipe, it opens the journal's recipe page, which lists every boss that drops it. The tooltip adds every boss the journal lists for the item.
- Dungeon rows: Open in DungeonJournal and the journal's dungeon map in the right-click menu; a name shared by several wings lists each.
- Open in DungeonJournal in the right-click menu of every such row.
- Dungeon quests: with the Questie extension, Open in DungeonJournal sits in Questie's quest rows' right-click menu. Without it, the journal's dungeon quests are rows of their own, with their level, dungeon and state; a click opens the quest's page, Shift-click links it in chat, and the GPS goes to the quest giver when the journal places one.
Works on WoW Forever.
Nothing of DungeonJournal's is copied into this addon: it reads the journal's data as installed and opens the journal's own pages, so new dungeons and fixes in DungeonJournal show up as soon as the journal has them.
How to use it
- Search a boss, an item or a dungeon in EasyFind as you always do. The row's hint says which click opens DungeonJournal, and the right-click menu has Open in DungeonJournal.
- Without the Questie extension, the filter menu's DungeonJournal row holds the quest switches: turned-in quests, the other faction's quests and other classes' quests.
- The DungeonJournal tile in EasyFind's extensions menu opens and closes the journal; its right-click menu opens the journal's own options.
Pairs well with
- EasyFind: Questie Extension: on WoW Forever, Questie's quests in EasyFind's search, each dungeon quest with Open in DungeonJournal in its menu.
- EasyFind: GPS Navigation Extension: directions to the dungeon's entrance or a quest giver from any row, with an arrow at your character and the route on the map.
Other EasyFind extensions
Each is an addon of its own that plugs into EasyFind; install the ones you want, with more on the way.
- EasyFind: GPS Navigation Extension: step-by-step directions to anywhere EasyFind finds, through flights, boats, portals and the walk, with an arrow at your character and the route on the map.
- EasyFind: Chat Extension: a messenger for WoW's chat, where every whisper, friend, group and channel keeps its own conversation, with history, search and pins.
- EasyFind: Questie Extension: Questie's quests in EasyFind's search, with your progress, their objectives on hover and directions to the next step. Classic Era, TBC Anniversary, Mists Classic and WoW Forever.
- EasyFind: Auctionator Extension: your Auctionator shopping lists in EasyFind's search: add items from any result, open a list as a checklist, run its search at the auction house. Retail and WoW Forever.
