ClassGuide is a World of Warcraft addon designed to help you make informed decisions about your character's equipment, abilities and progression without constantly switching to external guides.

Whether you're comparing a new weapon, checking your next talent recommendation, reviewing your rotation or finding out which abilities become available at your next level, ClassGuide brings useful information together in an accessible in-game interface.

🛡️ Gear Comparison & Upgrade Scoring

ClassGuide evaluates equipment using class- and specialisation-specific stat priorities rather than relying solely on item level.

• Upgrade and Downgrade Scores: See whether an item is an improvement over your currently equipped gear, including a percentage comparison.
• Specialisation-Aware Scoring: Equipment is evaluated using stat weights appropriate to your detected specialisation.
• Stat-Based Comparisons: Lower-item-level equipment with particularly valuable stats can still be recognised as an upgrade. A higher item level alone doesn't guarantee a better score.
• Weapon Comparisons: Accounts for weapon damage, DPS, weapon types and relevant equipment combinations.
• Set Bonuses: Includes supported equipment set bonuses when evaluating potential upgrades.
• Custom Stat Weights: Adjust stat priorities to suit your character and playstyle.
• Gear Score: Review equipment scoring directly from your character interface.

ClassGuide aims to provide a more meaningful assessment of equipment than item level alone, while recognising that some special effects and encounter-specific benefits may not be fully represented by numerical scoring.

Leveling talent recommendations will continue to be reviewed and refined as additional information about WoW Forever becomes available.

📖 Skill Compendium

The Skill Compendium provides a comprehensive reference for class abilities, including documented acquisition levels, ranks and learning sources.

• Browse abilities and ranks for your class.
• Review documented ability levels and acquisition methods.
• View ability descriptions and icons, prioritising live WoW Forever information.
• Identify abilities available at your current level.
• Preview abilities becoming available within the next five levels.
• Review trainer, quest, book and other acquisition sources.

The Compendium distinguishes between documented availability and abilities your character has actually learned.

🐾 Hunter Pet Abilities & Training References

Hunters can review pet abilities, ranks and training information directly within the Skill Compendium.

Features include:

• Pet ability descriptions and ranks.
• Compatible pet families.
• Documented tameable creatures that teach specific abilities.
• Creature level ranges and known training zones.
• Additional reference information for WoW Forever pet abilities.

Creature levels refer to the creatures that teach an ability, not the Hunter's level.

Training locations and compatibility information are provided as references and will continue to be refined as more WoW Forever-specific information is verified.

🔮 Warlock Demon Abilities & Grimoires

Warlocks can browse demon abilities and manage their Grimoire acquisition progress.

• View demon abilities, ranks and documented acquisition levels.
• Review Grimoire availability by level.
• Track outstanding Grimoires using a dedicated checklist organised by demon.
• Mark Grimoires as acquired or required.
• Automatically progress through ability ranks as Grimoires are marked acquired.
• Preserve Grimoire acquisition progress between sessions.

The Grimoire checklist tracks player-confirmed acquisition rather than automatically assuming that a demon has learned an ability.

📜 Spellbook Companion

The Spellbook Companion helps you identify abilities that are available to learn and those becoming available in the future.

• Available Now: Review outstanding abilities available at your current level.
• Coming Up: See future abilities and their documented acquisition levels.
• Learning Sources: Identify whether abilities come from trainers, quests, books or other sources.
• Warlock Grimoire Integration: Outstanding Grimoires appear alongside regular class abilities, using the same level-based presentation.

The Companion provides a convenient reference without replacing the game's normal spellbook functionality.

🔔 Ability Notifications

ClassGuide can notify you when new abilities become available as you level and when a higher rank of a player spell may be available.

Notification behaviour is designed to minimise unnecessary repetition, with configurable options.

🌍 Designed for WoW Forever

ClassGuide is developed and tested for WoW Forever, which may differ from standard World of Warcraft Classic in its abilities, talents, equipment and game systems.

Where possible, ClassGuide prioritises information provided by the live game client. Documented reference information is used where live information is unavailable.

As WoW Forever continues to evolve, ClassGuide's recommendations and reference data will be reviewed and updated.

Hunter Pet Training References

Hunter pet ability compatibility and training information, including tameable creatures, creature levels and known training locations, has been partially sourced from Tamed by moody and TrueshotLodge by chazlander. This information has been supplemented with additional research and WoW Forever-specific testing and will continue to be reviewed and updated as more information becomes available.

ClassGuide is independently developed and does not require either addon to be installed. However, both are excellent addons in their own right and are well worth checking out!
