# AetherForge Duelist

Open World Rankings for Dueling.

UFC-style duel rankings for WoW: Forever and Classic Era.

- Every duel you fight or watch is recorded.
- Climb the rankings of your division.
- Win the title, defend it, and make the Hall of Fame.
- Beat the other faction's Champion to become the Undisputed Champion of the server.
- Nothing to click: just duel. Type /duelist or click the crossed swords by the minimap.

## How fights count

- A knockout (KO) is a win.
- Making your opponent run from the duel (TKO) is also a full win.
- When both fighters have the addon, the fight is rated and points change hands.
- Against a player without the addon, the fight goes on your record once someone watching with the addon confirms
  it. No points change hands.
- Get your friends and guildmates the addon so your fights count.

## Divisions

Fighters are split by level, like UFC weight classes. Each character ranks on its own.

- Heavyweight: level 60
- Light Heavyweight: 50-59
- Middleweight: 40-49
- Welterweight: 30-39
- Lightweight: 20-29
- Featherweight: 10-19
- Flyweight: 1-9
- A fight between two divisions goes on your record without points.

## Points and rankings

- Everyone starts at 1500.
- The winner takes points from the loser.
- Beat someone rated the same as you for about +12, someone 200 points better for about +18.
- Your first 5 rated fights count extra.
- You're ranked once you have 5 rated fights in a division and one in the last 45 days.
- Fair play: only 3 rated fights against the same person per week.
- Fair play: a win only counts if the loser has fought at least 3 different people.

## The title

- A division gets a title once 6 fighters are ranked.
- A vacant title is never handed out. The top two contenders fight for it.
- To take the belt, beat the Champion.
- Only a top-5 contender can take the belt, and not in the Champion's first 7 days.
- Defend it or lose it: 21 days without fighting a ranked opponent and the title goes vacant.

## Hall of Fame

- Defend the belt 3 times and you're in the Hall of Fame forever.

## Alliance vs Horde: the Undisputed Champion

- Each faction has its own rankings and Champions.
- Duels between the factions don't count, except the unification bout.
- The two Champions of a division meet and both type /duelist unify followed by the other Champion's name.
- Best 2 of 3, within an hour.
- The winner is the Undisputed Champion for as long as they keep their own title.
- The Undisputed badge stays in the Hall of Fame forever.

## Tale of the tape

- When you challenge someone, you see both records, ratings, head-to-head and what's at stake.
- Your character also says a short tale of the tape in /say, like "Tale of the Tape: Euphorias 3-7 vs. Ronzil 5-4.
  Who will it be?"
- You can turn the /say line off in Settings.

## Commands

- /duelist or /afd: open the window
- /duelist me: your profile
- /duelist share: copy your fighter card for Discord (also: share champs, share rank, share and a name)
- /duelist unify and a name: start a unification bout (Champions only)
- /duelist discord: the Discord invite link
- /duelist ping, /duelist ask and a name, /duelist find: find other addon users
- /duelist nick and a nickname: set your fighter nickname
- /duelist minimap: show or hide the minimap button
- /duelist opacity and a number from 40 to 100: window see-through level

## How results spread to everyone.

- There is no central server.
- Addon users share results with their guildmates, their group and the people they duel that have the addon.
- The top 50 of every division reach the whole server.
- The more people use it the addon, the faster news travels.
- Rankings catch up within an hour or less.
