Hi Sims friends! 👋 I created this mod for my own Threads Of Life Save. I was so tired of the in-game auto-generated NPC clothing for certain roles—some of them felt really outdated. So I created overrides for a few NPC career outfits with unnecessary default outfits and decided to share them with you!

✨ About This mod

This mod primarly makes specified NPCs wear their standard clothing for work instead of predefined career outfits. It removes outdated looks and makes it easier to customize their appearance. Simply change your NPC's regular outfit in CAS, and the game will use that outfit for their career role. It works for all genders!

Since version 2.0, this mod also includes general improvements for a few of these roles. Because these mods tweak the main tuning for these roles — which also includes other gameplay features — I thought it would be great to add a few in‑game tweaks for some of them in the same mod.

🛠️ Choose Your Overrides

I've made this mod modular so you can pick the files you want, and only choose those NPC overrides you want.

✅ DJs - Party Clothing

This mod changes the DJ job tuning so NPC Sims will use their "Party" outfit instead of the pre-defined DJ career outfit options.

✅ High School Teachers - Everyday Clothing

This mod changes the High School Teacher job tuning so NPC Sims will use their "Everyday" outfit instead of the pre-defined High School Teacher career outfit options.

✅ Librarians - Everyday Clothing

This mod changes the Librarian job tuning so NPC Sims will use their "Everyday" outfit instead of the pre-defined Librarian career outfit options. Basegame compatible!

✅ Paparazzis - Everyday Clothing

This mod changes the Paparazzi job tuning so NPC Sims will use their "Everyday" outfit instead of the pre-defined Paparazzi career outfits options.

✅ Retail Staff - Everyday Clothing

This mod changes the Retail Staff job tuning so they use their regular Everyday outfits instead of their randomized retail staff uniforms.

Note: This is for NPC‑owned stores only. Retail outfits in your player‑owned stores will still use the customized uniform system you’ve set yourself!

✅ "Local Weirdos" - Everyday Clothing (or Towel)

This mod tweaks 3 of 4 of the Local Weirdo Situation NPCs job tunings in San Myshuno so they will use their regular Everyday outfits instead of spawning in a random bathrobe, raccoon costume, or a randomized outfit with a face mask.

I chose to keep the outfit for the one who occasionally spawns in just a towel, since that felt… somewhat more realistic in a big city. 😄

✅ Cemetery Lounger - Everyday Clothing & Tweaks

This mod tweaks the Cemetery Lounger Situation NPC job tuning so these sims will use their regular Everyday outfits instead of the default cemetery lounger clothing. It also tweaks their role tuning to give them normal hygiene and energy needs while they’re at the cemetery, so they behave more like regular Sims instead of sleeping everywhere.

TECHNICAL DETAILS

🛠️ Compatibility with other mods

• This mod overrides the main "Situation Job" tunings for different NPC careers—not just the clothing. This means it won't be compatible with other mods that override the same NPC career (like "DJ" or "Librarian").
• MCCC Mod: I've tested this mod with MCCC mod, and they work great together! 👐
• My mods: All of my released mods will always be compatible with each other!

• Base game + the specific pack the specified roles comes from (see for each role above)

🌍 Languages

• The mod works with all in-game languages!

➡️ Installation Help

• Unzip the file, choose the override files you want in your game and add them to your Mods folder, or any subfolder within it (but no more than 5 folders deep).

Note: You don't have to remove any files — if you have some of these installed without owning the packs, their tunings simply won’t load in your game. The mod will only load the NPC overrides for the packs you do own. 💚
