OdarIs Random Overlay

More variation, less repetition where the ground meets the world. 

Odaris Random Overlay is an optional add-on for the OdarIs pack.

It adds matching overlay variations for the Random Blocks add-on, helping grass surfaces look more natural and less repetitive while staying consistent with the rest of the pack.

This add-on is made to be used together with:

• 10 — OdarIs Base
• 20 — OdarIs Random Blocks
• 30 — OdarIs Overlay

31 — OdarIs Random Overlay should be placed above Overlay and Random Blocks in the resource pack list.

Alpha 0.1

Current version includes matching overlay support for selected randomized terrain textures.

Designed to work with the current Alpha 0.1 OdarIs ecosystem and its optional add-ons.

What it does

Random Overlay adds overlay variations that match the terrain variations introduced by OdarIs Random Blocks.

This helps the extra surface detail blend more naturally with the randomized terrain, instead of repeating the same overlay pattern everywhere.

The result is a more cohesive look for grassy terrain while keeping Minecraft recognizable.

Important

This is not a standalone pack.

It requires:

• OdarIs Base
• OdarIs Random Blocks
• OdarIs Overlay

OdarIs Packs

The OdarIs project is split into a Base Pack and several optional add-ons:

• 10 — OdarIs Base — the main pack and the base for all other add-ons.
• 20 — OdarIs Random Blocks — adds different texture variations to selected blocks to make repeated surfaces less noticeable.
• 30 — OdarIs Overlay — adds small plants and extra details to grass surfaces.
• 31 — OdarIs Random Overlay — provides matching overlays for textures used by Random Blocks.
• 40 — OdarIs Foliage — gives trees fuller foliage and makes forests feel denser.

You do not need to use every add-on. Just enable the ones you like.

Resolutions

Random Blocks is available in the same seven resolutions as the Base Pack:

32x • 64x • 128x • 256x • 512x • 1024x • 2048x

Use the same resolution as your OdarIs Base Pack for the most consistent result.

Compatibility

• Designed to work together with other OdarIs add-ons

Shaders are optional. The appearance of the overlays can vary depending on the shader pack and its settings.

Installation

1. Download OdarIs Base and OdarIs Random Overlay in the same resolution.
2. Open Minecraft.
3. Go to Options → Resource Packs.
4. Click Open Pack Folder.
5. Move both .zip files into the resource-pack folder. Do not extract them.
6. Enable both packs.
7. Place 31 — OdarIs Random Overlay above 10 — OdarIs Base.

Future Updates

Alpha 0.1 is only the beginning.

Future versions will expand the number of supported surfaces and add more details where they fit naturally into the OdarIs style.

The goal will remain the same: add more depth and variation without making Minecraft feel cluttered or unrecognizable.

OdarIs Random Overlay is optional.
OdarIs Base works normally without it.
