OdarIs Random Blocks

More variation, less repetition.

Random Blocks is an optional add-on for OdarIs that adds multiple handcrafted texture variants to selected blocks.

Instead of seeing the same texture repeated across large surfaces, Minecraft randomly chooses between several matching variants. The goal is to make terrain feel more natural while keeping every texture consistent with the main OdarIs style.

The first version adds random variants for:

• Grass Block Top
• Dirt Path Top
• Podzol Top
• Stone

More blocks and additional variants will be added in future updates.

Requirements

OdarIs Base is required.

Random Blocks is designed specifically for OdarIs and should be placed above the Base Pack in the Minecraft resource-pack list.

Recommended load order:

20 — OdarIs Random Blocks
10 — OdarIs Base

Higher-numbered OdarIs add-ons should always be placed above lower-numbered ones.

OdarIs Packs

The OdarIs project is split into a Base Pack and several optional add-ons:

• 10 — OdarIs Base — the main pack and the base for all other add-ons.
• 20 — OdarIs Random Blocks — adds different texture variations to selected blocks to make repeated surfaces less noticeable.
• 30 — OdarIs Overlay — adds small plants and extra details to grass surfaces.
• 31 — OdarIs Random Overlay — provides matching overlays for textures used by Random Blocks.
• 40 — OdarIs Foliage — gives trees fuller foliage and makes forests feel denser.

You do not need to use every add-on. Just enable the ones you like.

Resolutions

Random Blocks is available in the same seven resolutions as the Base Pack:

32x • 64x • 128x • 256x • 512x • 1024x • 2048x

Use the same resolution as your OdarIs Base Pack for the most consistent result.

Compatibility

• No required mods
• Works with vanilla Minecraft
• Compatible with shader packs
• Designed to work together with other OdarIs add-ons

Shaders are optional. The appearance of the overlays can vary depending on the shader pack and its settings.

Installation

1. Download OdarIs Base and OdarIs Random Blocks in the same resolution.
2. Open Minecraft.
3. Go to Options → Resource Packs.
4. Click Open Pack Folder.
5. Move both .zip files into the resource-pack folder. Do not extract them.
6. Enable both packs.
7. Place 20 — OdarIs Random blocks above 10 — OdarIs Base.

What does it change?

Random Blocks only adds alternative versions of selected OdarIs textures. It does not change the overall visual style of the Base Pack.

The variants are designed to blend naturally with each other and reduce visible repetition across larger surfaces such as plains, forests, paths, mountains, and caves.

OdarIs Random Blocks is optional.
The Base Pack works normally without it.
