STILL WATCHING

V1.0.9 IS OUT NOW

Forge 1.20.1 horror survival where fog hides movement, sound becomes evidence, and something in the dark notices you before you notice it.

The fog is not empty. The silence is not safety.

Build carefully. Explore slowly. Listen before you move.

Latest documented release: Still Watching V1.0.9. Update through CurseForge, back up your worlds, and keep client/server versions matched unless you enjoy debugging smoke with a spoon.

Best played at night with headphones, low brightness, and just enough confidence to make your first mistake.

THE 10-SECOND PITCH

Still Watching is a focused Minecraft horror survival modpack built around fog, darkness, stalking entities, brutal nights, cursed exploration, and cinematic paranoia.

This is not a kitchen-sink pack wearing a cheap monster mask. The world is hostile by design: forests disappear into mist, structures feel like bait, caves stop being resource tunnels, and every distant sound has the manners of a threat.

Official downloads belong on CurseForge. Avoid random reupload sites unless malware is somehow part of your horror experience.

V1.0.9 UPDATE CHECKLIST

  1. Back up your saves before updating.
  2. Back up custom configs if you edited them.
  3. Update through CurseForge or a launcher that properly supports CurseForge modpacks.
  4. Keep every multiplayer client on Still Watching V1.0.9.
  5. Use matching V1.0.9 server files/configs for dedicated servers.
  6. Test a copied world before trusting your main one. Hope is not a backup strategy.

WHY THIS PACK HITS DIFFERENT

Fog-first atmosphere
Visibility is part of the threat. Distance, darkness, weather, and terrain turn normal travel into bad judgment with legs.
Sound-led horror
Footsteps, knocks, whispers, growls, echoes, and distant movement are warnings, traps, and occasionally your obituary warming up.
Stalking entities
Threats follow, ambush, mimic, punish careless routes, and wait for you to relax.
Survival over power fantasy
Gear helps, but it does not make you untouchable. Awareness, preparation, and escape routes matter more.

THE EXPERIENCE LOOP

  1. Prepare before nightfall. Panic is expensive.
  2. Explore forests, caves, structures, lonely paths, and cursed places for loot and answers.
  3. Listen before moving. Sound is often the first warning and the last mercy.
  4. React when stalking entities turn your plan into comedy.
  5. Return with better gear, worse nerves, and fewer lies about being safe.

MAIN THREATS

Layered dread. Familiar myths. Things that should not be outside your base.

THE ANOMALY

The Anomaly featured horror entity in Still Watching

The Anomaly is the signature presence of Still Watching. It makes shelter feel temporary, quiet moments feel staged, and survival feel like something you borrowed.

OTHER HORRORS IN THE FOG

The Man From The Fog
Turns misty terrain into a hunting ground.
Apollyon
Destruction given form; planning becomes reaction.
The Knocker
Makes hollow sounds feel like a countdown.
Herobrine
Classic Minecraft myth reframed as sightings, structures, and hostile nostalgia.
The Mimicer
Makes familiar things unreliable. Trust becomes a liability.
The Goatman
A dark-woods stalker for forests, bridges, and lonely routes.
The Midnight Lurker
Thrives in darkness and punishes slow reactions.
Siren Head
Weaponizes sound, distance, and terrible curiosity.
Cave Dweller Reimagined
Turns mining into a liability and every echo into a reason to leave.
And more
Layered threats, hostile routes, cursed places, and enough paranoia to ruin your shortcut home.

EXPECT THIS

  • Fog-heavy horror exploration.
  • Sound-based tension and danger cues.
  • Stalking entities, hostile encounters, and moments where running is correct.
  • Forests, caves, structures, roads, cursed places, and risky loot routes.
  • Survival pressure without turning the game into a factory spreadsheet.
  • Multiplayer panic when everyone realizes the noise was not decorative.

DO NOT EXPECT THIS

  • A peaceful building therapy pack.
  • A kitchen-sink profile stuffed with random mods until the loading screen begs for death.
  • A pure tech, factory, or automation experience.
  • A safe power fantasy where gear solves every problem.
  • A pack that stays balanced after you bolt 40 random mods onto it and pray.

INSTALLATION

  1. Install the CurseForge App.
  2. Search for Still Watching.
  3. Confirm the project is by Soumyajit.
  4. Install or update to Still Watching V1.0.9.
  5. Allocate at least 5GB RAM; 6–8GB is preferred.
  6. Launch the pack. Put on headphones. Regret your confidence.

Using another launcher? Use one that supports CurseForge modpacks properly, then install the latest compatible Forge 1.20.1 release from the official project page.

RECOMMENDED SETUP

Minecraft 1.20.1
Mod Loader Forge
Java Java 17 if your launcher asks
RAM 5GB minimum; 6–8GB preferred
Audio Headphones strongly recommended
Brightness Keep it low/default for the intended horror atmosphere
Performance Lower shaders, render distance, particles, and dynamic lighting if FPS suffers

MULTIPLAYER / SERVER NOTES

  • Use the same modpack version on server and clients.
  • Match Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge versions exactly.
  • Keep backups before updates or server migrations.
  • Do not dump client-only visual, shader, UI, map, or rendering mods into a dedicated server.
  • Test world generation and joining before inviting players.
  • Voice/audio setup is worth testing before the first real session.

A mismatched server pack is not mysterious horror. It is bad admin work wearing a cheap mask.

BEFORE REPORTING ISSUES

Reproduce the issue on a clean install if possible. If it still happens, report it with useful evidence, not a haunted postcard that says “it broke.”

  • Modpack version, for example Still Watching V1.0.9
  • Launcher used
  • Minecraft version
  • Forge version, if visible
  • Java version, if relevant
  • Singleplayer or multiplayer
  • Crash report or latest.log
  • Steps to reproduce the problem
  • Any extra mods, shaders, resource packs, or config edits you added yourself

Report issues on GitHub or read the installation guide.
