Welcome to Tinker's RPG: The Hero's Epic Journey to Build, Forge, and Battle Through Trash Mobs and Cataclysmic Monsters in a World Where Survival is Essential and Crafting is King.
To survive, you'll need to manage your hunger, thirst, and temperature thanks to Tough as Nails, though your survival will be made easier thanks to a class system inspired by Dungeons & Dragons.
But what's this? Punching wood yields nothing! That's right, to chop down trees, you'll need to make yourself a makeshift axe thanks to a custom mod developed for this pack, Realistic Start.
Once you get past that hurdle, the challenges don't stop there. You'll need to make a Tinker's Construct Smeltery if you want to progress past stone-tier tools.
From there, you can mass process metals to make Create contraptions, but don't go thinking you'll spam waterwheels and be fine. Water behaves realistically, and standing water only powers the wheels by a small amount.
At the end of the Create tree, you might be wanting to get into electricity with your new generators, but you'll need steel to start Immersive Engineering. Time to make that Foundry you've been putting off!
For the Foundry, though, you'll need Nether materials, which means you have to deal with the extreme heat of the Nether.
Progressing through Immersive Engineering allows you to finally make the vaunted ME System from Applied Energetics 2 for true mass storage and automation, then it takes you from low voltage (LV) to high voltage (HV). After that, your options expand wildly, allowing you to play the game however you want and progress through mods like Cataclysm for their bosses, Ad Astra for making your own space base, and even Draconic Evolution for its gear and final showdown with the ultimate guardian.
There is an in-game guide to help you remember what all has changed from what you may be used to. An official server exists for this modpack, just like all modpacks made by Silver Beaches, but the core game can be fully enjoyed in single-player if that's your style of gameplay.
