This modpack is purely designed to explore Oritech and Malum. Of course, it wouldn't be a Silver Beaches modpack if it didn't include optimization mods and supplementary mods, but the primary goal is to exclude mods that add alternate forms of progression that allow you to skip the semi-grindy nature of these two mods.
That's not to say there won't be a few helping mods that will support your journey, however. Here's a few of them:
- Create will help make certain farms easier.
- Create: Aeronautics will allow you to create mobile bases.
- Gaze expands Malum and adds even more content to explore.
- New structures and bosses we've never hosted suppliment or boost your combat abilities.
- Tom's Simple Storage Mod to quickly build an ME System so you can hoard all the resources.
- Draconic Evolution gives a reason to use all those resources you're going to end up hording.
- SecurityCraft to protect all those resources you're definitely going to hoard.
Certain mods that we almost always include will not be present in this modpack, including AE2 and FTB Essentials. This means that there will be virtually no auto-crafting aside from the dedicated vanilla methods as well as no ability to set homes, go back to your death point, or teleport to the spawn area.
Also, when you die, your items will be stored on your corpse. After 15 minutes, your corpse will turn into a skeleton. If you're playing in single-player, this is purely a visual change, but if you choose to play with other players, then your corpse will protect your items for as long as it doesn't turn into a skeleton. After those 15 minutes, then anyone can loot your stuff.
Finally, if you choose to join the official server, note that there will be only one singular rule to follow; don't be a jerk. Seriously, if you're a jerk, then you can't play on the official server.
That joke is probably going to be lost on a lot of people... Jokes aside, though, there's basically going to be no rules whatsoever. As long as you're not intentionally griefing players to the point where they want to quit playing the modpack, then you're allowed to play however you want.
Some examples of things that won't be allowed on the official server:
- Killing players and stealing their items.
- Raiding other's bases to take everything that isn't nailed down.
- Destroying player's farms or detonating large-scale explosives you or they own.
Some examples of things that will likely be tolerated:
- Harvesting other player's crops.
- Harvesting the life energy of other players.
- Trolling other players, like setting up a piston that constantly makes noise nearby.
- Building a sacrificial altar to Hermal directly outside of someone's front door.
- Hitting a player with a car.
- Laying siege to someone's base using cows as your ammunition.
- Gathering up a horde of zombies and leading them to a passing player, then killing all of them to place the other player in your debt so you can exploit them later.
Thank you for considering playing this pack, and I hope that the more hardcore focused players will enjoy the added challenges that this pack will provide. Oh, and do be careful. The undead in this pack have an uncanny sense of smell and will investigate any noises they hear...
