Needed Essentials 2.0.0
What's new
Needed Essentials 2.0.0
The big update: Needed Essentials now runs on Minecraft 26.3 (Fabric). Every mod is on its newest version for 26.3. Still client side only, so it works on any server, including plain vanilla ones.
New
- A title screen of its own: a blue toolkit background and the Needed Essentials logo, drawn for the pack, with the buttons in one tidy column (no Realms button).
- Xaero's Minimap: a minimap with waypoints and death points. The player and mob radar is off by default, because many servers do not allow it. You can turn it on in the minimap settings (Y).
- Xaero's World Map: a full-screen map of everywhere you have been (M).
- Mod Menu: a list of every mod in the pack, with a settings button for each one.
- Inventory Profiles Next: sort buttons for your inventory and chests, and it refills tools and blocks in your hotbar when they run out.
- Better Mount HUD: see your hunger and XP bar while riding a horse.
- ImmediatelyFast and MoreCulling: more FPS, especially in menus and in busy areas.
- Default Options: the pack's default settings and keys are only used for a new install, so updating the pack no longer resets your own settings.
Changed
- Minecraft 1.21.10 to 26.3, Fabric loader 0.19.5. Needs Java 25 (the CurseForge app picks it for you).
- World Play Time is replaced by World Play Time Reborn (play time and size of each world in the world list).
- Cubes Without Borders is replaced by Fullscreen Tweaks (borderless fullscreen in the video settings).
- Shaders are still included but now start switched off, so the pack runs well on every PC. Press K to turn them on, I to pick one.
- Low On Fire is now switched on by default (smaller fire overlay).
- Cleaner key binds: Xaero's enlarge minimap is on N, the waypoint list on J, and a few unused keys that clashed are unbound.
Removed
- Litematica (and MaLiLib): there is no version for Minecraft 26.3 yet.
- Lazy Language Loader: there is no version for Minecraft 26.3.
- Remove Reloading Screen: only an early test version exists for 26.3, and it could crash Xaero's maps when a world starts.
Fixed
- The pack shipped with Bliss shaders switched on, which made it slow on many PCs.
- Leftover files from my own test worlds and some per-PC files are no longer in the pack.
