TRMT: Reimagined (The Roads More Travelled)

Ground wears into paths where you actually walk and grows back when you stop. Nothing is ever written into the world. Built for packs with hundreds of mods, where every block wears in its own colors. The Roads More Travelled: Reimagined.

What's new

TRMT: Reimagined 0.9.228 - Minecraft 26.3, Fabric (beta)

Needs Fabric API 0.160.5 or newer, on Fabric Loader 0.19.5 or newer. Cloth Config and Mod Menu are optional. Install on the server and on every client.

A beta from this release, no longer an alpha. If anything here differs from the other editions, say so in #mc-bug-reports on the Discord.

Works beside the last release: the rules a server sends gained fields at their end, which an older client leaves unread, so this client joins a server on the last release and the other way round - and it says so in one line in the chat when the server runs an older build.

A settings screen of this mod's own, opened by default: tabs and a search, sliders, number fields that show their range and refuse what is out of it, dropdowns with a line on each choice, pickers that show each block, item and mob, and a name nothing in the game answers to shown red. What the server decides reads "set by this server", and each hover ends with the setting's range and default. It opens from a small button just right of the Options screen's top row, from a key you bind, with /trmt config, and from the mod list. Where Cloth Config is installed, its screen is one button away, and back, and lists every category too.

Which creatures wear the ground, by group: fromHostileMobs, fromPassiveMobs, fromVillagers and fromCustom (the mobs list), each group with its own multiplier, and a cap per chunk for players and each group, off until set. A settings file from an earlier release is read so the ground wears exactly as it did; a new one has all four on. A mob carrying a player does not wear by itself, and the Golem of Ways never does, on a lead or loose.

Blast wear reaches 2 to 5 blocks past what a blast destroys, falling off with a ragged edge, and the crater's floor and walls are worn, hardest at the middle. explosionStrength defaults to 168 in a new settings file.

The square you arrive on is not worn by arriving - joining a world, a teleport or a change of dimension - until your first step off it, or 2 seconds.

A full snow drift no longer shelters the ground beneath it from wear, as on 1.7.10; weather.fullSnowDriftsSolid makes it shelter it again. A snow layer or carpet on a worn stair keeps it from settling, and the harder Golem guide asks for dirt where the pack has no compressed cobblestone.

The update check asks for this game's own file first, and the snapshot tool opens its screen only when asked.

Advancements follow the switches: with achievements, the golem or its upgrades off, none stands with nothing to earn. And a switch written as anything but true or false reads as its default.

A fluid: payment reads Fabric's fluid storage, so a mod's tank or bucket that holds a bucket's worth pays, where only a vanilla bucket paid.

It warns of an old Fabric API, as every other Fabric jar does: it asked for Fabric API by a name these games no longer give it, and never found it.

The wear editor's look picker draws a whole face below sixteen pixels, smaller, where it drew a corner of it.

Snow and carpet over a rut settle under every renderer, lowered in the block's model.

Sunk ground is lit by its height under Fabric's own renderer, where a sunk top drew nearly black.

This mod's recipes reach a recipe viewer, and /recipe offers them again.

A crater's walls draw as bright under Fabric's own renderer as under every other, where they drew at about half.
