About
ThrowAndesite is a Create add-on that lets you throw Andesite Alloy like a rock. Hold a stack, press left-click, and send it flying at a wall, the floor, a mob, or straight into empty air.
The alloy follows a heavy, steep arc instead of floating like a snowball. It shatters with andesite particles when it lands, deals a small amount of damage to anything it hits, and drops itself back as an item — so you can pick it up and throw it again.
Requires Create (hard dependency) — install it alongside Create.
Install on both the client and the server. Works in singleplayer out of the box.
Free to use in any modpack — public or private, no permission needed.
What it does
- Throw Andesite Alloy — hold
create:andesite_alloyand press left-click to launch one from the stack. - Heavy stone physics — the projectile drops much faster than a snowball, giving it a short, steep and weighty trajectory.
- Throw anywhere — aim at blocks, entities, the ground, or open air.
- Hit mobs — a direct impact deals a small amount of damage.
- Recover the alloy — after impact, the projectile drops the Andesite Alloy back as an item instead of destroying it.
- Impact effects — the alloy shatters with an andesite-style block-breaking effect when it lands.
- Hold to keep throwing — holding the attack button repeatedly throws alloys at a controlled rate, so the entire stack is not emptied instantly.
- Creative-friendly — survival players use one alloy per throw, while creative players keep their stack.
The dropped alloy can still be lost to the usual hazards, such as lava, fire, explosions, or the void.
How to use
- Put Andesite Alloy in your main hand.
- Aim wherever you want to throw it.
- Press or hold left-click.
- Pick the alloy back up after it lands.
Throwing replaces the normal attack or block-breaking action while Andesite Alloy is held. Switch to another item whenever you want to mine or attack normally.
For modpack makers
ThrowAndesite references zero Create classes. Andesite Alloy is detected entirely through its registry id:
create:andesite_alloy
This keeps the add-on small and avoids unnecessary coupling to Create's internal code.
There is currently no configuration file. The thrown item, damage, gravity, recovery behavior, and throwing cadence use the mod's built-in values.
