The Hollower — 1.10.0 Beta

This release expands the creature's influence on the world and makes later encounters less predictable.

Added

• Variable encounter patterns: observation without an attack, a sudden hunt, a return after an apparent retreat, and an approach that pauses while watched.
• Corner sightings that expose the head and shoulder while the body stays behind cover.
• Light flicker effects and a brief, limited rush across the light boundary in escalated encounters.
• A marked night after a successful grab. The creature can return for that player without waiting for a nearby den or the usual cooldown.
• Reactions from dogs, cats, livestock and villagers.
• Den markings and an immediate response to a player approaching a resident's den in darkness.
• A delayed return of a stolen item stack beside its owner's bed when both locations are loaded.
• A configurable successor after a player kills the creature.
• Personal multiplayer mimicry: footsteps, mining sounds and a fleeting familiar player figure.
• The craftable Hollower Ward, which protects an area temporarily and promises a later encounter.
• Individual settings for the new behaviours, plus operator commands for encounter patterns, corner sightings, mimicry and marked nights.

Retained and corrected

• Includes the 1.9 renderer fix for an offscreen creature.
• Existing 1.8/1.9 configuration files remain usable; missing settings take their default values.
• Core procedural movement, stalking, home haunting, grabbing and nearby-den item recovery remain part of the mod.

Release packaging

• Updated author credit to ItsR4WR and added a project icon and clear custom-license terms.
• Normal gameplay JAR only; development scenario tools are not required by players.

Install version 1.10.0 on both the server and every client. Shaders and dynamic-light mods are optional and are distributed separately. This is a Beta release; broad modpack compatibility and every multiplayer/client presentation remain open for feedback.
