Also announcing a new Tetra add-on mod, Aetheric Tetranomicon! Adds fully integrated support for the Aether and three of its add-ons (Deep Aether, Aether: Lost Content, and Aether: Redux). Go check it out!

Brief Note on Updates:

A new version for 1.16.5 was temporarily and accidentally listed for 1.20.1, which is why 1.20 had a fake update. CurseForge was weird about fixing it, but the file's been removed and reuploaded. Current versions are 1.5.1 for 1.20 and 1.5.3 for 1.16.

Tetranomicon

Adds Tetra support to resources from 40+ other mods. DOES NOT require all of them - it'll work just fine if you only have a few installed!

Other Tetra Support

Undergarden: Undergarden/Tetra Patch. Includes support for all Undergarden materials, including special effects.

Aether: Aetheric Tetranomicon. Includes support for the Aether and its add-ons, including all materials' special effects.

Higher hammer levels: Tetra Toolbooster. If you're willing to mess with Tetra's progression system a little, this will let you boost your tool levels a little higher in the endgame, to work with the rarest materials. Allows you to make bows out of dragonsteel, for instance.

Old Update Announcements

1.20 Port (12/10/23)

Includes support for Biomes O'Plenty, Enderite, Stalwart Dungeons, and Twilight Forest.

Twilight Forest and Enderite innate enchantments are working again. <s>They will be readded to 1.18 and 1.19 in the 1.5 update.</s> This was unfortunately not possible.<s>
</s>

Stay tuned for the 1.5 update, coming soon to all versions - includes support for over a hundred new materials from seven new mods, as well as bugfixes and rebalancing for all existing materials. Taking suggestions for more mods to add, too - leave a comment if you want support for something!

1.19 - 4/19/23

Includes support for Atmospheric, Autumnity, Environmental, Upgrade Aquatic, Biomes O'Plenty, Create, Quark, Stalwart Dungeons, and Twilight Forest.

Adds the new Create stone types and zinc, plus the new Quark wood types and Shale.

Theoretically supports BYG as well, but I can't get BYG to load without crashing.

Item special effects still don't work (mainly just affects Twilight Forest metals).

1.18 - 3/19/23

Includes support for Atmospheric, Autumnity, Environmental, Upgrade Aquatic, Biomes O'Plenty, BYG, Create, Enderite, Ice & Fire, Quark, Stalwart Dungeons, Twilight Forest, and Unearthed.

Special material effects currently not working. I'll get on it.

1.4 Update

Hi everyone! I'm back from a (very) long unexpected hiatus, and I return with the 1.4 update! It adds 1.16.5 support for Atum, Nether Agriculture, and Stalwart Dungeons, plus adding some of BetterEnd's new features. 1.18 and 1.19 ports are in the works. I hope to get them out soon.

In the meantime, I'd like to thank Vox4l for stepping up with their 1.18 port, Grimoire of Tetra. It's good to know people didn't have to wait for me.

I'd also like to announce a new mod, Tetra Toolbooster: for those of you who've asked about how to make a recurve bow out of dragonsteel, here's your answer! If you're willing to mess with Tetra's progression system a little, this will let you boost your tool levels a little higher in the endgame, to work with the rarest materials.

  • Mossy Glowshroom Wood: extremely fast iron-level mining, but very fragile and unstable.
  • Helix Wood: diamond-level mining, but not very fast.
  • Umbrella Wood
  • Twisted Vine: Flexible and durable, makes good bowstrings.
  • Dense Vine: heavy but very durable.

  • Dolomite
  • Gabbro
  • Limestone
  • Scoria
  • Dark Scoria

If you're looking for more in-depth Create support, try Tetra Pak!

Enderite

  • Enderite: major modules grant the Void Floating improvement, which keeps the tools from falling into the Void.

Ice and Fire

Dragon and sea serpent scales can be used to wrap hilts, grips, and handles. All will improve durability, damage, swing speed, and reduce negative item effects such as Ender Reverb and Blazing.

Fire dragon scales give better damage and reduce Blazing more. Ice dragon scales give better durability. Lightning dragon scales give better swing speed. Sea serpent scales are inferior to dragon scales and do not excel in any particular area.

Dragonsteel, with three caveats: 1) it does not have special effects; 2) it is not affected by the I&F config, and 3) you can't directly modify existing dragonsteel tools (this is so you can't break a dragonsteel sword by sticking it in the workbench). If you'd like it to be less absurdly broken, a datapack to nerf it is available.

Dragonbone and Witherbone are compatible with Tetra by default.

Outer End

  • Azure wood
  • Crystal shards can be socketed: rose for damage, mint for efficiency, cobalt for Intuit (like lapis).

Quark

  • Slate
  • Limestone
  • Marble: not very hard, but quite durable.
  • Jasper: nearly iron in stats.
  • Voidstone: more durable than obsidian, with better Integrity use, and nearly as good everywhere else.
  • Myalite: better than iron at mining and harder than diamond, but not as light or durable.

Twilight Forest

  • Knightmetal, with Armor Penetration
  • Steeleaf, with innate enchantments
  • Ironwood, with innate enchantments
  • Fiery Metal, with Fire Aspect
  • Naga Scale (being a scale, it's only usable for sword guards)
  • Twilight Oak
  • Canopy Wood
  • Mangrove
  • Darkwood
  • Tower Wood

Unearthed

  • Gabbro
  • Kimberlite
  • Limestone
  • Marble
  • Phyllite
  • Quartzite
  • Rhyolite
  • Schist
  • Slate

Wyrmroost

  • Blue Geode: roughly equal to diamond. Can be socketed.
  • Red Geode: better than Blue. Can be socketed for benefits between Diamond and Pristine Diamond.
  • Purple Geode: better than Red. Can be socketed for benefits better than Pristine Diamond. Highest tool level in the game.
  • Platinum
  • Drake Plate: being a Scale it's currently only usable for sword guards.

NEW IN 1.4

Atum

  • Nebu: a very powerful netherite-tier metal
  • Khnumite
  • Limestone
  • Alabaster
  • Porphyry
  • Palm Wood
  • Deadwood
  • Godshards: can be socketed to give very large damage and efficiency boosts, increased attack speed, and a speed boost while you hold it.

Stalwart Dungeons

  • Tungsten
  • Chorundum

Nether Agriculture

  • Blazing Gold: very fast mining, innate fire aspect, and extremely enchantable. Might set you on fire a little.
  • Glowing Wood
