Slash Grief Control

Let explosions, mobs and powers reshape the world, then automatically restore tracked blocks and inventories with particles and no chat spam.

Let the battle happen. Let the world recover.

Slash Grief Control lets explosions, mobs and supported powers damage the terrain, then automatically restores the affected blocks after a configurable delay. Recognized abilities can also transform, replace or create temporary blocks.

The default delay is 30 seconds of game time. Everything runs automatically, with no commands or chat messages.

What it does

  • Restores tracked damage while preserving block inventories saved in their native data.
  • Suppresses drops from tracked destruction, so recovering a block does not duplicate its materials.
  • Remembers the first state through repeated changes: stone turned into gold and then ice returns to stone. A block created in empty space returns to air.
  • Tracks native fluid spread and falling sand or gravel from recognized temporary sources. Natural rivers and ordinary falling blocks keep their normal behavior.
  • Keeps ordinary mining and building permanent. Later builds and items deposited into temporary containers are protected from automatic cleanup.
  • Saves pending recovery across normal world saves and restarts. Unloaded chunks wait until they load again.
  • Shows native restoration particles. Modern versions also have nearby preview effects and configurable particle limits.

Made with One Piece and LOTM modpacks in mind

Includes targeted handling for Mine Mine no Mi temporary walls and native restoration, plus selected LOTM ability classes. These integrations focus on terrain changes; they do not certify every power in either modpack.

For Mine Mine no Mi 0.11.1, choose Forge 1.20.1. The separate legacy NeoForge 1.20.1 build does not meet that MMNM version's Forge requirement.

Installation

Install one JAR matching your exact Minecraft version and loader in the server's mods folder, or in your singleplayer installation. Players joining a server do not need Slash Grief Control on their clients; other mods retain their own requirements. Fabric API is not required.

Minecraft Available builds
1.12.2 Forge
1.16.5, 1.18.2, 1.19.2 Forge, Fabric
1.20.1 Forge, Fabric, legacy NeoForge
1.21.1, 26.3 Forge, Fabric, NeoForge

To change the delay, restoration rate or particles, edit config/slashgriefcontrol.properties and restart the server or reopen the world. Defaults work without setup.

Beta: compatibility and testing

All 16 builds passed packaging checks. Isolated dedicated-server scenarios and restarts passed on Forge 1.12.2, Forge/Fabric 1.16.5, Forge/Fabric 1.20.1 and NeoForge 26.3. The published Forge 1.20.1 JAR also passed startup and integration-hook checks with real MMNM 0.11.1. The other builds have build/package validation only.

Client visuals, survival, multiplayer, player reconnects and the full set of real modpack abilities still need gameplay testing. Large destruction events can cause performance spikes. Custom storage, unusual item spawning, asynchronous terrain edits and custom debris entities may require additional integration. Unknown storage or occupied replacement containers are preserved instead of being erased.
