Siren Island Respawn

Makes Ice and Fire sirens return to their islands and respawn after a configurable delay.

Siren Island Respawn

Siren Island Respawn is a lightweight addon for IceAndFire Community Edition on Minecraft 1.20.1 Fabric, designed to keep Siren Islands alive and reusable after players encounter them.

Normally, sirens can leave their islands while chasing players, and once they are killed, the island can remain permanently empty. Siren Island Respawn adds persistent island homes, return behavior, configurable respawning, and recovery systems so sirens can naturally return to their islands over time.

Features

  • Siren Respawning — Sirens that are killed will respawn on their original island after a configurable delay.
  • Return to Island — Living sirens that leave their island while chasing a player will attempt to return home after losing their target.
  • Persistent Island Homes — Each naturally generated siren is associated with its original Siren Island.
  • Original Siren Count Preserved — Islands keep the number of sirens they originally generated with instead of being filled to a fixed amount.
  • Safe Respawn Placement — Respawn positions are checked against the siren's collision box to prevent sirens from spawning inside blocks and suffocating.
  • Lost Siren Recovery — Sirens that wander too far away or become stuck can be safely recovered back to their home island.
  • Chunk-Aware Respawn Timer — Respawn timers only progress while the island area is actively loaded.
  • Persistent Respawn Progress — Remaining respawn time is preserved when chunks unload or the server restarts.
  • No Permanent Forceloads — The addon does not keep Siren Island chunks permanently loaded.
  • Existing Island Support — Existing naturally generated Siren Islands can be detected and adopted when compatible sirens are found.
  • Configurable Behavior — Respawn time, return delay, activation range, return speed, arrival distance, and existing siren adoption can be configured.
  • Optional Mod Menu Support — When Mod Menu is installed, the configuration can be changed directly through an in-game configuration screen.
  • Dedicated Server Support — Server configuration can be synchronized with connected players and changed by players with the required operator permissions.

Configuration

The configuration file is generated at:

config/siren-island-respawn.properties

  • Return Delay: 15 seconds
  • Respawn Activation Range: 160 blocks
  • Return Speed: 1.15
  • Home Arrival Distance: 5 blocks
  • Existing Siren Adoption: Enabled

All time-based options clearly specify whether they use minutes or seconds.

If Mod Menu is installed, these settings can also be accessed through the in-game Mods menu.
