Team System
Team System is a complete team management system for Minecraft 1.20.1 Fabric that expands Minecraft's vanilla scoreboard teams with roles, permissions, invitations, team administration, and optional mod integrations.
Features
- Vanilla Scoreboard Teams — Uses Minecraft's vanilla scoreboard teams as the foundation of the system, keeping compatibility with existing
/teamcommands, datapacks, commands, progression systems, and other mechanics that rely on vanilla teams. - Team Creation — Create teams directly in-game. When a new team is created through Team System, the player who creates it automatically becomes the Leader, and Friendly Fire is disabled by default.
-
Team Roles — Supports three team roles:
- Leader
- Vice-Leader
- Member
Each role has its own permissions and responsibilities.
- Team Management — Leaders and Vice-Leaders can manage team members according to the team hierarchy. The system includes promotion, demotion, kicking members, leadership transfer, leaving teams, team removal, and other administrative functions.
- Join Requests — Players can request to join an existing team. Leaders and Vice-Leaders can review pending requests and accept or deny them.
- Player Invitations — Leaders and Vice-Leaders can invite players directly to their team. Invitations include clickable Accept and Deny options.
- Automatic Expiration — Join requests and invitations automatically expire after 5 minutes.
- Persistent Team Data — Leader, Vice-Leader, and other team management data are saved persistently with the world, so the information remains available after restarting the server.
- Team Colors — Teams can use the available Minecraft scoreboard colors through the team's management system.
- Friendly Fire — Team System respects the vanilla scoreboard Friendly Fire setting. When Friendly Fire is disabled, players on the same team cannot damage one another, and supported team entities can also receive the same protection.
- Stick Interaction — Sneak while holding a stick and right-click a player to perform team management actions directly through the world.
- MCA Reborn Integration — When Minecraft Comes Alive Reborn is installed, MCA villagers can be added to scoreboard teams using the stick interaction system. Players must have the required relationship level with the villager before adding them.
- MCA Villager Teams — MCA villagers are assigned to teams using their UUID, allowing individual villagers to be tracked even when multiple villagers have the same name.
- Team Help System — Includes an in-game
/team helpsystem with multiple pages, clickable navigation, command descriptions, and team interaction information. - Optional Integrations — Minecraft Comes Alive Reborn, FTB Teams and FTB Quests are optional. Team System's core team functionality does not require them to be installed.
Commands
Team System uses Minecraft's existing /team command as its foundation while adding additional functionality that is not available in vanilla.
Examples include:
/team add <team>
/team join <team>
/team leave
/team list
/team promote <player>
/team demote <player>
/team transfer <player>
/team kick <player>
/team info
/team pending
/team color
/team help
The vanilla scoreboard remains responsible for actual team membership, while Team System adds the additional management features on top of it.
Vanilla Compatibility
Team System is designed around Minecraft's vanilla scoreboard teams rather than creating a separate team system.
Existing teams, players, entities, datapacks, commands, and progression systems that already use Minecraft's scoreboard teams can continue using the same data.
Existing team memberships do not need to be recreated when installing the mod.
Permissions
Team management follows a role-based hierarchy.
Leader has full team management permissions.
Vice-Leader can manage regular members while respecting the team's hierarchy.
Members have standard team access without administrative permissions.
Server operators can still use vanilla administrative team commands when necessary for server moderation and management.
Optional Integrations
Minecraft Comes Alive Reborn
Optional integration for MCA villagers, including adding and removing MCA villagers from scoreboard teams and extending Friendly Fire protection to supported MCA entities.
Installation
Install Team System on both the client and server.
No additional team-management script is required.
Existing worlds can continue using their existing vanilla scoreboard teams.
Compatibility
Minecraft 1.20.1
Fabric
