Description
Seal of the Custodian
Bind an Iron Golem, always know where it is.
I wanted to actually own a specific Iron Golem — not just "a golem somewhere near my base" — and be able to check on it, find it, and pull it back when I need it, without changing how it fights or moves.
How it works
Right-click a golem with the Custodian Sigil to bind it. Binding is tracked by the golem's UUID rather than its name tag, so doing it again on the same golem just confirms the existing record instead of creating a second one — and renaming it never breaks the bond.
Right-click empty air with the Sigil to open the Custodian screen, listing every golem you've bound with a live 3D preview and its current health.
Locating
Pick a bound golem from the list for a temporary overlay — name, direction, distance — in the style of vanilla's own Locator Bar. What it reports always matches the golem's real state:
- a live distance while it's loaded;
- its last known position while it isn't;
- its exact place of death, read straight from the death event, never guessed.
A golem Custodian can't currently find is treated as unloaded, not presumed dead — only an actual death event marks it as dead.
Recalling
Teleports the golem you picked to a safe spot near you.
- Never spawns a duplicate.
- Never moves two golems at once.
- Makes one chunk-load attempt first if the golem isn't immediately reachable.
- Does nothing, rather than risk an unsafe teleport, if there's genuinely no safe spot nearby.
What it doesn't touch
Custodian sits on top of vanilla golem behavior, not in place of it — combat, pathfinding, spawning and despawning are all untouched, and golems you haven't bound aren't affected at all.
