Raven Core provides functionality for the modpack Raven's High Fantasy which could not be achieved with configuration or data/resource packs alone, and either specific to the pack or something which I didn't think it was worthwhile to release a standalone mod for. Some of its features include:
- Unifying spellcasting between Spell Engine and Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks
- Adds health and mana potions that can stack to 16, and can be found in chests, as well as health/mana orbs, and healing when standing near a campfire and out of combat.
- Adds a structure regeneration system, so players can regenerate structures they've never been to (but others have) for free once, or regenerate structures indefinitely in exchange for expensive materials.
- Patching bow items from Valoria, Cataclysm, and Ice and Fire to use Ranged Weapon API
- Rebalances the arrow damage from Ice and Fire, especially its dragonbone arrows. Fixes a power-enchantment bug with the dragonbone bow.
- Unifying villager and wanderer trades across several mods to use Numismatic Overhaul: Reforged Again, and patching several bugs with it
- Adds all of the story content, like lore books, blocks, transformation rituals, dimensions, items, music, and structure piece replacements of other mods, for Raven's High Fantasy
- Fixes rendering conflicts between Entity Model Features, Punchy, Iron's Spells, and Better Combat
- Disables every boss in the Raven's High Fantasy campaign from having total projectile immunity
- Improves Shoulder Surfing Reloaded functionality for Jade, Loot Beams: Refork, Health Bars, ItemPhysic, and Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks. Also gives all of these mods Better Combat style swing-thru-grass targeting
- Adds a true "in-combat" music event with combat detection to Reactive Music. Fixes music logic conflicts with L_Ender's Cataclysm, Reactive Music, and Dark Doppelganger.
- Applies several attribute unification and balancing changes to Hazen 'N Stuff, Elemental Synergies, and Valoria
- Modifies JustLeveling [Fork] to display a "character level" based on your skilled aptitude points. This is displayed above players and used by companion mods Raven's DnD Origins and Raven's Apoth
- Makes coins from Numismatic Overhaul: Reforged Again picked up by ItemPhysic's pickup methods deposit straight into your coin purse
- Moves Archers' quivers to the other side of the player model, so they no longer overlap with an equipped Iron's spellbook. Also fix it not following EMF player models
- Makes Apothic Enchanting's Crescendo of Bolts enchantment work properly on crossbows from Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks and Clockwork
- Fix Legendary Monsters' Stratlings still trading enchantments disabled by Apothic Enchanting
- Fixes Icarus wings not following the player's torso when it moved due to an Entity Model Features animation pack
- Fix a memory leak in Accessories
- Improve the performance of Aether's player cape scan
- Fix a bug in Neruina causing players to be suspended in a limbo state indefinitely after being kicked for a ticking error
- Fix a bug in Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks command suggestion providers for modded entries
- Lots and lots of debug commands for pack development
Can I use it in my own modpack?
I wouldn't recommend it, mostly because of the Raven's High Fantasy story-specific changes.
If there's some feature you want to use in your modpack, let me know on Discord and I might be able to make a separate mod for it.
If you're a mod developer whose thing I've adjusted, feel free to take my change for your own - usually, I just put a patch in here because I assume a mod developer wouldn't be interested in having it in their mod, or would take too long to implement it.
