Make your world feel more, well, grown? Grass comes alive in Overgrowth!

This client-side-only mod (yes, you heard that right) does not change textures, but still allows for procedurally generated/calculated grass changes! For all of the other nerds out there, all decisions for placement are saved as a hash of the coordinates.

Here is what is added

Grass tufts

These are short grass just standing around about everywhere. There are four different variations of them, they spawn denser in more lush biomes (so, jungles = super lush, savannahs aren't that lush), and they get mushed when you walk on them! They simply add more density to the world... make the unknown actually feel more natural. You can clear tufts using a hoe.

Cliff overhangs and full grass

Instead of baseline making all grass full grass blocks, I decided for it to be calculated! You will notice that on certain corners of cliffs, grass bleeds off. There are little overhangs to taper it back off onto normal textures, but full grass blocks now look purposeful, instead of overused.

Procedural moss

ITS ALIVE! That's right, moss is grown/spawns in places where it actually should. Moss grows on most natural blocks, anywhere in the dark, near water, and in just generally cool areas. It adds a nice refreshing bit of variation to natural blocks and makes them look taken over by nature! You can remove grass using a brush.

Color variation

This is such a subtle change that makes ALL the difference. Each biome tint now operates on a certain noise map to actually add some color variation (though, not enough to be confused with other biomes). It takes a plain, stagnant looking biome and brings it to life with justtttt a little color touch.

Seasons

This is a fun baked-in way to add seasons. Lushness of biomes changes in seasons (so, winter, lots of tufts will die! Less grass overhangs! Isn't that neat?). And of course tint changes here.

And MORE

Thunderstorms spawn more leaf particles, some small noises, and other ambient particles for you to discover! Oh, and algae... which can also be removed with brushes.

ALL of this can be configured, but I recommend using the Dense preset! It just makes your world feel so much more alive.
