Pack a spawn-safe bedroll, sit on sixteen cozy cushions, rest with pets by a campfire, and keep baby companions young with Golden Dandelions.
Nomad’s Menagerie adds craftable camping gear, colorful seating, and pet-care features to Minecraft 1.21.1.
- Straw Bedroll: Sleep through the night without replacing your home respawn point. Craft it from wheat, carpet, string, and leather, then break it by hand to pack up your campsite.
- Cozy Cushions: Craft cushions in all 16 wool colors. Right-click with an empty hand to sit and sneak to dismount. Cushions reduce fall damage by 60% without bouncing.
- Campfire Comfort: Sitting on a cushion within six blocks of a lit campfire or soul campfire grants gentle Regeneration I. Nearby sitting tamed cats and wolves can also seek out an available warm cushion.
- Golden Dandelions: Surround a dandelion with eight gold nuggets, then feed it to a baby ageable mob to pause growth. Feed another to resume. Falling golden particles mean growth is paused; rising particles mean it has resumed. Growth locks survive saving and loading, including axolotl bucket pickup.
- Glowing Flowers: Plant Golden Dandelions on suitable soil or place them in flower pots for decorative light.
- Craftable Name Tags: Arrange paper, a copper ingot, and string diagonally in a crafting table. Rename the resulting tag in an anvil as usual.
Everything is survival-craftable. No new world generation or unexplored chunks are required.
Installation
Requires Minecraft 1.21.1, Java 21, Fabric Loader, and Fabric API. Install the mod and Fabric API on both the client and server.
Tested dependencies: Fabric Loader 0.16.14 and Fabric API 0.116.6+1.21.1.
Compatibility and testing
Growth locking supports baby animals and villagers, but not undead babies or tadpoles. Resuming growth starts a new 20-minute baby timer.
Version 1.0.1 passed all 30 automated GameTests against the packaged JAR. This is a beta build: graphical gameplay, normal dedicated-server startup, real multiplayer, and the standard Gradle build remain unverified. Compatibility with other sleeping, aging, or pet-AI mods is not certified.
