This is a mod that prevents player to break blocks without tools.
This mod was inspired by No Tree Punching by AlcatrazEscapee, but simpler.
Unlike other mods of this type, this mod makes not only logs but also all blocks unbreakable by hand. Some blocks, such as soil, leaves and plants, avoid this restriction by default. You can still break blocks as usual by holding any tool in your main hand.
This mod doesn't add any early game tools. I recommend using this mod in conjunction with another mod that contains primitive tools. However, you can find a way to get started with this mod alone.
Blocks that can still be broken by hand have the tag neverpunchingtrees:breakable.
Items that are considered tools have the tag neverpunchingtrees:canbreak.
You can add/remove any of these objects by adding/removing these tags with a datapack.
Also, you can force blocks to be broken only by the best tool type by config.
