Foundations Update

This update doesn't add any new magic focus items, but it does add some new magic combat options, and anchors more of the magic system into core vanilla Minecraft systems.

Poison Gardens

What witch, wizard, or alchemist could do without their gardens? Occultists have long been at the forefront of herb-lore, and they have many uses for plants we might normally deem exotic, useless, or even dangerous.

Wolfsbane (also known as Monk's Hood because of the flower shape) can be brewed into a poison that's especially effective against wolves and other tameable creatures. It's also useful for warding, which will come in handy later...

Nightshade (also known as Belladonna for its inviting appearance) is the queen of poisons. The berries are pleasant and slightly sweet, but absolutely deadly. The poison is unusually effective against dragons, but due to this very same strength, it heals undead creatures.

All "strong" poisons can be brewed to a higher potency than spider's-eye poison, and can be made into the full set of splash potions, lingering potions, and tipped arrows.

Runestones

Many practitioners of magic have noticed that words themselves seem to have power. While they haven't worked out how to build operational Stele, making carved runestones is definitely the first step in exploring this avenue.

The 25 runestones added in this update are a blank tile plus the entire Elder Futhark (they are real runes, not made-up ones), can be chiseled with Chisel, and are inert, non-TileEntities that are safe for building.

In a later update, these runes will be convertible into Warded Rune Stele using wolfsbane, and underpin a crafting system that will hopefully change the way you lay out your base.
