Kart Racing
Arcade kart racing that runs on your own Minecraft terrain. Courses are
generated through real biomes, rivals are mobs driving karts, and the Grand
Prix ends with a dragon.
Racing
- Drift and mini-turbo - hold the drift through a corner and leave it with a burst of speed
- Rocket start - hold forward on the "2" of the countdown and launch off the line
- Emerald coins - collect them on the course for a speed bonus, lose a few when you spin out, spend them on items
- Item boxes - drive through for materials, craft mid-race from the kart's crafting kit
- Rank, speed and coin HUD, a race minimap, and checkpoint navigation
Four karts
Kart, Bike, Shopping Cart and Wood Kart - each with its own speed, grip and
handling. Craft them, place them anywhere, drive them anywhere - also outside
of races.
An arsenal of items
Nitro Boost, Shield, Giant Sword, Super Ender Pearl, Ink Bomb, Giant Potion,
Star Pickaxe, Snow Cannon, Throwing TNT, Homing Bow, Giant Trident, Giant
Mace, Web Trap, Honey Trap and more. Buy them with emerald coins or craft
them from item-box materials while driving.
CPU rivals
Mobs drive against you - zombies, skeletons, wardens, chickens - with real
driving AI: they follow racing lines, recover from crashes, drift, rocket
start, and use items. Three difficulty settings (Easy / Normal / Hard).
Races
Pick a spot, choose how many biomes the course should cross, and the mod finds
checkpoints, builds gates and stocks the course. Creating a course takes a
while - the build runs in the background with a progress bar. A race course
is usually a couple of minutes; a full Grand Prix, with its nether road and
stronghold work, can take several. Saved courses can then be raced again and
again, and deleted cleanly - removing a course restores the terrain.
The Grand Prix
Four stages in one run:
- Overworld Rally - across biomes to a nether portal
- Nether Rally - along a road built for you through the nether
- Stronghold Rally - back in the overworld, down into a stronghold
- Dragon Fight - finish it in the End
Roads, tunnels, lighting and portals are generated when the course is created,
and removed when it is deleted.
Multiplayer
Host a LAN world or install on a server. Starting a race opens a 60-second
join window - players declare join or watch with one click, spectators follow
the field with a standings key, and everyone is returned to where they were
when it ends.
Getting started
- Press N to open the race menu.
- Pick a kart on the karts page - it appears under you, ready to drive.
Jump is drift; steer while drifting to charge a mini-turbo.
- Back in the menu: create a course. This takes a few minutes - a
progress bar tracks the build, so grab a snack. Then start a race on it;
once saved, a course starts instantly every time after.
Prefer survival progression? Karts are craftable items too:
Iron Iron Iron
Iron Leather Iron
Coal Iron Coal
Keys (rebindable): N race menu, C rear view, M minimap,
Q spectator standings.
Requirements
- Minecraft Java Edition 26.2
- NeoForge 26.2.0.67 or later
- Install on both server and client for multiplayer
- No resource pack needed
- Suggested memory: 5 GB for a dedicated server, 6-8 GB for singleplayer/LAN hosting
- Course generation and a full field of CPU racers are server-intensive.
A CPU with good single-thread performance is recommended; on small shared
VPSes, expect course creation to take noticeably longer.
Good to know
- Course generation edits terrain: checkpoint gates on every course, plus
roads, lighting and portals for a Grand Prix. Deleting the course restores
the blocks it placed.
- Tested with fields of up to 12 racers.
Known limitations
- One course can be active at a time - create or start the next one after the
current race ends.
- Course creation takes a few minutes by design; see Requirements for the
hardware notes.
- While driving a kart, right-click use of non-racing items is blocked on
purpose (it keeps races fair and your world safe from mid-race grief).
- Not yet tested with rendering-replacement mods such as Sodium/Embeddium,
or alongside large content mods.
Safety / Verification
Being careful about jar files is always the right instinct, so here is
everything you need to check this one yourself.
- Every file on this page went through CurseForge's automatic malware scan.
- VirusTotal: 0/60 - scan report
- SHA-256 of mkr-1.0.0.jar:
94447e00f88dfd600be0239a92310a71bcb9e62338a97c5f81c8c806d35535cf
- No network code: the mod makes no HTTP requests, opens no sockets, sends
no telemetry and downloads nothing at runtime.
- No process execution: no ProcessBuilder or Runtime.exec anywhere (the one
Runtime.getRuntime() call only reads heap statistics into a log line).
- No dynamic class loading and no reflection tricks. Four small Mixins,
listed by name in mkr.mixins.json, are the only bytecode patches - the
standard NeoForge modding mechanism, inspectable in the jar.
- The jar decompiles cleanly with JD-GUI, Recaf or Vineflower if you want to
read it yourself.
