Jukebox Walkman & Disc Press brings portable playlists and survival disc duplication to Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.1.
Take your favorite music on your next expedition, share it with nearby friends, and press backup copies while keeping your original discs intact.
Carry a six-disc playlist
Craft a Pocket Jukebox using a vanilla jukebox, preserving its diamond cost. Load up to six music discs and control playback with Play/Pause, Previous, Next, Single Once, Loop One, Loop All, and Shuffle.
Choose between private Headphones playback and Boombox mode, which shares music with players within 16 blocks. Nearby parrots and allays can dance within eight blocks.
- Right-click a music disc onto the Pocket Jukebox in your inventory to insert it.
- Hold the Pocket Jukebox and right-click to play or pause.
- Sneak + right-click to open the playlist editor.
- Playback stops when the device leaves your inventory, or when you die, disconnect, or change dimensions.
Press backup music discs
Place a master music disc, a Blank Wax Disc, and an amethyst shard or honeycomb into the Disc Press. After five seconds at the default setting, collect a matching copy.
The master disc stays intact. Each copy consumes one blank and one catalyst.
The workstation supports hopper automation:
- Top: insert master discs and blanks.
- Sides: insert blanks and catalysts.
- Bottom: extract finished copies only.
Hoppers cannot extract the master disc. Output comparator feedback and optional instant pressing on a rising redstone signal support automated builds.
Capture note-block samples
Sneak-use a Blank Wax Disc on a tuned note block to capture its instrument and pitch as a two-second, single-note disc. Choose from 16 pitched instruments and 25 pitches.
These discs work in vanilla jukeboxes, the Disc Press, and your portable playlist.
Installation
Requires Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.1, Java 21, Fabric Loader, and Fabric API. Install the mod and Fabric API on both the client and server.
Tested dependency versions: Fabric Loader 0.16.14 and Fabric API 0.116.6+1.21.1.
Recipes unlock through the recipe book. Server configuration controls pressing duration, playlist capacity from one to six discs, allay dancing, and instant redstone pressing.
Compatibility and release notes
Supports vanilla and modded jukebox-playable discs through Minecraft’s song registry. Custom sound events require their corresponding audio resources. No external streaming or bundled music recordings are included.
This build passed 27 GameTests, 16 audio-stream checks, 95 Minecraft Ogg-decoder checks, and a headless client-linkage check. Standard Gradle execution, ordinary dedicated-server startup, live gameplay/audio, and connected multiplayer remain unverified due to development-environment restrictions.
Boombox synchronization is approximate. Elapsed playback position is not retained across logout or server restart.
