🛡️ Siege Core: Base Invasions – Update for Minecraft 1.21.11
This update focuses on better player guidance, smarter invasion behavior, custom mob stability, and several important quality-of-life improvements.
📖 New Siege Guide Book
- Added a full Siege Guide Book to help players understand what to do.
- The guide explains the Siege Core, Threat, Invasions, Defense Blocks, Upgrades, Events, Multiplayer, and Recipes.
- Recipes are displayed with item icons instead of plain text.
- The book now works better in fullscreen and windowed mode.
- Added a note that fullscreen is recommended to see the full guide text.
- The guide is automatically given to players on their first join / first world start.
- The guide can now rarely appear in Village Chests.
🌍 Language Support
- Updated guide text and UI strings for multiple languages.
- Supported languages include English, German, French, Spanish, and Turkish.
👹 Smarter Siege Mobs
- Siege mobs now focus the Siege Core as their main target.
- When attacked by a player or owned companion, siege mobs will briefly retaliate.
- After a short time or if the attacker moves too far away, mobs return to focusing the Siege Core.
- Added a glowing effect to spawned siege mobs so players can identify them more easily.
- Flying siege mobs now receive better movement orders and should get stuck in the air less often.
- Siege mobs are less likely to waste time fighting unrelated mobs.
💥 Custom Mob Stability Fixes
- Added crash protection for custom flying mobs that are missing the minecraft:flying_speed attribute.
- Unsafe custom flying mobs are now skipped or removed instead of crashing the server.
- Improved compatibility with large modpacks that add custom monsters and bosses.
🌊 Safer Mob Spawning
- Siege mobs should no longer spawn in water or lava.
- Ground and flying spawn checks were improved.
🔁 Restart & Recovery Improvements
- Active invasions now recover better after a server restart or world reload.
- Existing siege mobs near the core are reattached to the active invasion.
- This helps prevent mobs from becoming passive or ignoring the core after a restart.
🧱 Defense Block Improvements
- Spike Traps and Slow Traps no longer lose charges by default when triggered.
- This prevents traps from breaking almost instantly during heavy waves.
- A new config option allows enabling the old charge-consumption behavior again.
⬆️ Upgrade GUI Improvements
- The upgrade screen now stays open after buying an upgrade.
- Token and upgrade values refresh without forcing the player out of the GUI.
- This makes spending multiple tokens much smoother.
👑 Boss & Wave Improvements
- Added configurable milestone boss fights.
- Default milestones now add bigger boss encounters at higher levels.
- Custom mobs can now be configured to stop spawning after certain waves, stages, or infinity levels.
⚙️ New Config Options
- siegeMobGlowEnabled – Enables glowing siege mobs.
- siegeMobsFocusCoreFirst – Makes mobs prioritize the Siege Core.
- siegeMobRetaliationFocusTicks – Controls how long mobs focus attackers.
- siegeMobRetaliationMaxDistance – Distance after which mobs return to the core.
- preventFluidSpawns – Prevents siege mobs from spawning in liquids.
- skipCustomMobsMissingFlyingSpeed – Prevents crashes from broken flying custom mobs.
- defenseTrapsConsumeCharges – Allows enabling/disabling trap charge consumption.
- milestoneBossFightsEnabled – Enables special boss milestones.
- bossMilestones – Configure custom boss waves and boss counts.
- untilWave, untilStage, and untilInfinityLevel for custom mobs.
🧩 Compatibility
- Improved support for modpacks with many custom mobs.
- Improved behavior with companion-style mobs.
- Better protection against problematic custom flying bosses.
✅ Summary
This update makes Siege Core easier to understand, more stable in large modpacks, and much better during active invasions. The new Siege Guide Book, improved mob targeting, glow effect, restart recovery, trap fixes, and custom mob safety should make the mod feel smoother and more reliable overall.
