Description
Hot Iron Expansion: Expanded Expanded Forging
I highly reccomend downloading my datapack which adds compatability recipes for many different mods. This mod won't do much without it. Find the datapack here.
The mod Hot Iron by RegenStudios overhauls minecraft's vanilla tool and weapon crafting significantly, but why not take it a step further? This mod aims to expand on the work that RegenStudios has done and make an even more in depth smithing system featuring sophisticated handle-making for tools and weapons, as well as parts for some modded weapons. Hot Iron Expansion adds over 100 new items and several new crafting methods to accomplish this. The use of Just Enough Items is highly advised in order to understand the changes by this mod and Hot Iron. Following the tooltips on the ingredients of items can also tell you how to use the mod.
Required Dependencies:
- Hot Iron by RegenStudios - HIE is based off the framework created by this mod, so it is absolutely required in order for this mod to do anything.
Compatability via Datapack:
- Dixta's Armory by dixta - most of the items HIE adds are to create the weapons from this mod. I highly reccomend playing with this mod, otherwise there isn't much of a point in using HIE.
- Archery Expansion by Nekomaster1000 - HIE adds recipes for the new bows and arrows.
- Shield Expansion by Infernal Studios - HIE adds recipes for the new shields.
- Farmer's Delight by vectorwing - HIE adds recipes for the knives in the mod.
- Quark by Vazkii - HIE adds recipes for the pickarang and a few other items
- Medieval Armory - A mod by me that adds new armor classes. Fully integrated with HIE. Check it out!
Features Added:
- A new system for crafting wooden tools that involves sharpening sticks and breaking down logs into chunks of wood.
- A new flint-knapping system for crafting stone tools and weapons.
- Different tiers of handles for different material tiers. Wooden and stone tools require crude handles, which are simply made of sticks and seeds. Iron and gold tools require standard handles, which are made by chopping logs into timber and shaping that timber with a knife. Diamond tools require fine handles, which can be made at a stonecutter, which now requires a saw blade made in the smithing anvil as an ingredient.
- Various different types of smithable parts that can be used to make items from the mods listed above, provided a datapack is installed.
- Several "bonus" items with full smithing compatibility, but no uses yet. These items can be used by modpack developers to add compatibility to mods of their choice that I haven't added comaptibility for.
Let me know what more you would like to see from this mod in the future! What mods do you want compatibility for? Are there any features you think would fit this mod well? Leave a comment to let me know, as I hope to update this mod in the future.
